A Jirachi's Only Wish

Learning to Fly

"I... Me.. Would like that," Celeste said and thought to herself,'I spoke my first sentence!!!'

"Oh so you do talk! Even better!" The little noibat said gleefully. "We'll have so much fun!!! I'll introduce you to my family and we can take care of you!"

So Celeste went with Noi and he led her to a tree. "You need to fly to get up. Can you do that?" Noi inquired.

Celeste looked at him, curiously. "F-fly?!" She said and all of a sudden memories came back of Luna the Cresselia pushing her out of the sky.

She shook her head sadly. "Can't fly..." She replied and looked down.

"Hm.... Well I could teach ya," Noi said and a grin crossed his face. "C'mon! It'll be fun!"

Before she knew it, Noi led her to the top of what seemed to be a tall rock. It was only three feet high, but it seemed taller to Celeste.

"Here... Try jumping and use your natural instinct," the noibat said, trying to figure out how to teach flying lessons.

Celeste nodded, took a deep breath, and jumped!

She landed on the ground with a thud. "Oof!" She yelped.

Noi tried to hold back his laughter. "G-good try! Let's do it again. I-i know you can do it!" In between each word he giggled.

Celeste looked down but didn't give up.

She jumped off the rock again only to be greeted with the same landing and "oof!" This continued for quite a while.

Noi finally put a stop to it. "Ok... So natural instinct isn't working. Let's try flying mechanism things!" Noi said, trying to sound like he knew what he was doing completely.

"Uhh..." Celeste replied unsurely,"ok. Sure. We try that."

Noi took one look at what he thought was her wings and he shook his head. "You can't fly with those!" He said, pointing at her tail streamers.

"I... I no.....fly?" Celeste asked, tears building up. "No! I will fly!"

"Hrm.... I don't know. Let's focus for a second... Clear our minds to try and find a way," he said shrugging.

"O-ok..." Celeste cleared her mind, thinking of nothing but flight.

The noibat watched her with wide eyes as she levitated above the rock.

Thinking to himself he thought:"it's the concentration!!!! She can do it when she clears her mind!!!"

Celeste couldn't think of anything, but she had found inner peace. She felt that this made her strong and she opened her eyes.

When she saw that she wasn't on the ground her eyes widened in fear and excitement.

"Celeste!! You're flying!!!" Noi shouted and flew up into the air with her, excitedly. "Now, let's head to the tree. It's getting dark."
