Previously on The Divine Beauty- Apsara...

"What concerns you about Zayn so much?" Apsara questioned finally, as she saw Parineeti's expression changing as she quickly avoided that question by saying, "Write the letter as soon as possible, I want it tomorrow morning so that I can post it... it's for your own good." She walked out of the room, leaving Apsara in her own room, in a dilemma where she had to choose between options which resembled like murder or suicide.

If King Zayn would ever buy the house for her family, Parineeti would understand that Zayn truly had feelings for Apsara, but if the opposite happened, she would be shunned away by her family and society for ruining the peaceful life that her family once lived.

Either way, she had to give in to either one of the two lethal options.

.....

Finally, she picked up the feather to write.

To the King of Lahore, His Majesty Zayn Malik Abdul Shah,

I am writing this letter to you with extreme grief, I have safely reached Awadh with no complications of any kind during my travel.

But upon reaching here, I learned that my family's properties have been handed over to my Uncle, whose Son you'd met a few months back on an unfortunate situation, which I believe is the reason that I am in this mess now.

My family is now facing a crisis where we have no land live on, and as 'you' are the sole reason for this, whether you'd defend yourself otherwise or not, I would not request, but demand you, to buy us back the land we lost, in Awadh... otherwise you'd be putting my, as well as my family's, lives on the brink of death.

Apsara.

.....

When Zayn reached Lahore, receiving a letter from none other than Apsara wasn't what he had expected. When the letter reached five days after it was posted by Apsara's sister Parineeti, and when he read the letter numerous times, he knew that things were serious... serious to the extent that it would cost him the life of his one true love, Apsara.

He was in his room while the letter had been personally brought to him by his worker. And when he saw the seal of Awadh, he hurriedly teared open the letter to know what his lady-love was up to .

But her words were grief- stricken, and it was evident to him. But his political mind told him that if he'd help her, it would definitely mean that he was admitting that he had murdered Apsara's father. If he would buy the land, it would give Apsara the power to use that against him during their oral duels.

But not helping her would be like committing a crime against his own conscience. He wouldn't be able to eye Apsara with confidence ever again, perhaps she would never come back, to the palace and to his life.

Among the millions of dilemmas that he had dealt with, during his reign, this was by far the most gruelling ones of his life.

Would he give in to public shame or save Apsara from being homeless?

He was only a letter and a document away from whatever his decision would be.

He called the guard who stood outside his room, who was kept outside after the incident he had with the snake... otherwise prior to that day, he was one among the Kings who used less personal security.

"Find me all the available lands in Awadh, for sale over one acre..." He ordered, and the guard rushed to do the work that his King had ordered him to do.

Zayn thought that at least this gesture of help, would help to bring Apsara close to her... but little did he know that their relationship would cost more than a document.
