The picture above is of Sam. Sorry, I was in kind of a rush when I drew this, lol.

Kaila lies down on her bed, flipping through the channels on the small television hanging from the wall with her remote. Every time the sound and picture shows up on the device, it is quickly interrupted by a click.

"Good morning! Today we are here with..." click. "The weather forecast for today is s..." click. "Gabriel Duncan!" click. "A beautiful piece of jewelr..." Click. "Patrick, you ready to go JELLYFISHING?" Click. Blake sweatdrops, as it's the tenth time Kaila has gone through these channels.
"Today's show is brought to you by the letter 'y'"
"Like 'y' am I watching this?" Kaila groans, before another click. "Nothing's on!"

"It is hospital cable... what do you expect?" Rian sighs, tapping away on his phone.

"There's nothing to do!" Kaila groans, as she throws her forearm across her face dramatically. "Being in a hospital is so boring!" She throws her legs over the side of the bed and sits up. "Why can't I leave already?"

"Because you haven't been cleared for discharge yet." Sam says, one bud hanging out of her ear.

"But I feel fine!" Kaila whines. "But you're not." Rian says, annoying his sister. The girl sighs in anger as she lays back down. There are no sounds except for the tapping of Sam's foot and the clicking of the "keys" on Rian's screen. Soon the sound of the ticking clock joins in, along with the whirring sound of the air conditioner as it's turned on.

The sounds continue in a seemingly endless, and annoying cycle. Tick. Tap. Whir. Tock. Tick. Click. Whir. Tock. Tick. Tap. Whir. Tock. Tick. Click. Whir. Tock.

Kaila tosses onto her side in her bed.
Tick. Tap. Whir. Tock. Tick. Click. Whir. Tock. Tick. Tap. Whir. Tock. Tick. Click. Whir. Tock.
More sounds soon decide to add to the noise.
Drip...drip...drip...drip...

Kaila tosses again.

Tick. Drip. Tap. Drip. Whir. Drip. Tock. Drip. Tick. Drip. Click. Drip. Whir. Drip. Tock. Drip. Tick. Drip. Tap. Drip. Whir. Drip. Tock. Drip. Tick. Drip. Click. Drip. Whir. Drip. Tock. Drip.
Kaila growls as she turns another time.

Tick. Drip. Tap. Drip. Whir. Drip. Tock. Drip. Tick. Drip. Click. Drip. Whir. Drip. Tock. Drip. Tick. Drip. Tap. Drip. Whir. Drip. Tock. Drip. Tick. Drip. Click. Drip. Whir. Drip. Tock. Drip.

Next, the outside noises become compelled to join the irritating symphony.
Vroom. Beep. "Get off the road!". Bark. Honk!

Kaila covers her ears with her pillow.

Tick. Drip. Tap. Drip. Whir. Drip. Tock. Drip. Tick. Drip. Click. Drip. Whir. Drip. Tock. Drip.
Vroom. Beep. "Move it"! Bark! Honk.
Tick. Drip. Tap. Drip. Whir. Drip. Tock. Drip. Tick. Drip. Click. Drip. Whir. Drip. Tock. Drip.
Vroom. Beep. "Screw you"! Bark! Honk.

Kaila growls again.

Tick. Drip. Tap. Drip. Whir. Drip. Tock. Drip. Tick. Drip. Click. Drip. Whir. Drip. Tock. Drip.
Vroom. Beep. "Go to hell"! Bark! Honk.

BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!

"THAT'S IT!" Kaila says, before she flies out of the room.
"KAILA, WAIT!" Blake says as he begins to chase after the girl. Their exit is soon followed by a ton of shouts, bangs, and crashes.

"..."
"..."
"...She's not very patient, is she?" Sam asks Rian.
"...Nope."
"..."
"...She's just wearing a hospital gown and shorts...isn't she?"
"...Yep."
"..."
"...Wanna go see the chaos?"
"..."
"...Definitely."

Blake runs down the hall, dodging doctors, nurses, and patients as he chases after Kaila. The girl dodges around her obstacles like a jackrabbit, while Blake is barely able to keep up. A couple of nurses shriek as Kaila nearly runs into them.

"Sorry!" she calls back, before she continues.

"Kaila!" Blake shouts. "You need to get back to bed!"

"No!" she shouts back. "It's boring!" She laughs maniacally as she darts around obstacles, turning to see the boy struggle to do the same. This is her element. This is what she specializes in. Track and field had always been one of her favorites.

"At least...slow down...a...little...!" The boy starts to pant, already growing tired from trying to keep up with the girl.

Despite the boy's protests, Kaila keeps running. After sitting and laying for what, to her, seemed like ages, running feels wonderful. The air blowing on her face, through her hair, the sound and feel of her feet pounding the ground, the flex and release of her muscles as she moves her legs, the beads of sweat forming on her brow, and, most of all, the feel and sound of her heart, pumping blood and adrenaline through her body, pounding in her ears. These sensations are familiar to her. They put her at ease. She revels in the feeling.

She closes her eyes for just a moment too long as she takes in the feeling, before she sees an unoccupied gourney right in her path. It's too late for her to jump it, so she tries to stop, only for her momentum to carry her forward and throw her over the gourney. "EeeeeeeEEEAAAKK!" She shrieks as she is sent flying, before landing on the clean, white tiled floor with an "oohff!"

"K...Kaila!" Blake shouts, running over to the girl. "A...are you...okay?" he pants, helping her up. "Y...yeah..." she says, rubbing her head. Blake looks her over to discover that her nose is bleeding again. He sighs, pulling something out of his jacket pocket and handing it to her. It's a package of tissues. "Thang you..." she says, stuffing some tissues up her nose to stop the bleeding.

As he helps her up, Blake accidentally touches the warm, bare skin of Kaila's back. He blushes, becoming uncomfortably aware of just how little the girl is wearing. "Uhhh..." he says, turning his head away and removing his hands, confusing Kaila. "What?" She asks. With a quick glance out of the corner of his eye, Blake removes his jacket and holds it out to the girl before averting his gaze. "Maybe you should....uh...put this on..."

"Huh?" she asks, confused. Blake blushes more deeply, finding the prospect of explaining highly uncomfortable. "W-wear this..." He answers, feeling the heat rush to his face. "Why...?" she starts to ask, before looking down. Her face turns a bright red, causing Blake to blush even more as she quickly yanks the jacket out of the boy's hand and shoves her arms through the sleeves. "Th-thanks..." she stutters. Her heart races out of embarrassment. Had she really just run through a hospital half naked? She facepalms. 'I'm never gonna live this down...'

The room appears to be slightly spinning, causing Kaila to stumble. Seeing this, Blake places Kaila's arm around his shoulder, and his arm around her waist in support. Still highly aware of what just happened, both walk down the hallway, blood rushing to their heads and reddening even their ears.
