The song above is House of Memories by Panic! at the Disco. I just love this song.
Hey, guys! I've already finished the next chapter! Yay!
I want to say something real quick to you guys.
I've been working on this story since last year, and it's one of my favorites. So, the fact that it has now reached 200 reads is absolutely amazing! While I will often hit walls, I love writing this story, and the fact that there are others who enjoy reading it just makes me so happy!
I know that, for a teen fiction story, it's taken quite a while to get just 200 reads, but for someone as socially awkward and self-conscious as myself, it might as well be 2000!
So, in order to thank those of you who are still reading, and those few of you who actually commented, whether to say you enjoy my story, or to ask for me to update, I made another long chapter! I hope you guys like this chapter.
Either way, please vote and comment! A couple of you have told me you like my story, but it still doesn't have any votes, which makes me sad. And if you don't know what to comment about, why not say your favorite character, your least favorite, what you like about the story, what you don't, or even something completely random! I want this to be more interactive than it has been, so please, at least for the tenth chapter, comment and vote if you liked it! Thank you!
Kaila's POV
Going down the steps in front of the school, I look around and spot a maroon Chevy. "Hey, Danica!" I call, jumping into the car, sitting next to Sam. "Hey, Sam. Hey, Sasha."
"Hey." they all say back. I take off my book bag, holding it to my chest eagerly as I set it in my lap.
"Is Janett coming?" I ask, noticing that her usual seat is empty.
"No." Sam answers. I nod.
"I still can't believe you've never been to the beach!" Danica exclaims, looking at me in her rear-view mirror as she starts the car.
"I just never got the chance, I guess." I laugh sheepishly. "I always loved swimming when I was little, but I was never taken to the beach. I think I was afraid of sharks or something. I mean, Jaws scared the hell out of me when I was little!"
We laugh and joke as we ride to the beach. It was a sunny day, and it was ninety-seven degrees outside. We had been planning this trip to the beach for a week, and I'm honestly excited.
"You have the beach supplies in the trunk, right, Danica?" I ask.
"Yeah, I have 'em." she answers.
"Oh, and thanks for letting me borrow your swimsuit, Sam." I say.
"No problem!" she laughs. "You can keep it. It hasn't fit me for over a year. It fits you perfectly though. You're so tiny!" she says the last part in a squeaky voice.
"It's not my fault I'm short." I pout, crossing my arms.
"Anybody have some songs on their phone?" Danica asks suddenly.
"Nope." Sam says. "Never."
"Sorry." Sasha apologizes.
"What about you, Kaila?"
I freeze. "Uh....... H-hey!" I say in protest as Danica snatches my phone while we're at a stoplight.
"Woah!" Danica says, handing my phone to Sam. "Look at this!"
