Icarus regains consciousness later. He's unaware of how much later, but he knew it had been some time. Icarus has some kind of magic inhibiting device strapped to him. Looking around, Icarus sees he is in a small room with nothing but a door and two torches. All of his spare water containers had been stripped from him, so he couldn't do anything even if he wanted to. There was no one around, so he decided he would rest while he waited. He closes his eyes and droops his head.
The door screeches as it gets flung open, and slams the wall when it stops. This was definitely enough to wake Icarus and make him look up. Four men had walked in with their faces covered: two armed, two unarmed. The unarmed men come up and move the device with Icarus in it, while the armed men watch him like a hawk. They roll him through hallways to a big room several floors lower than the cell he was being kept in.
As the door closed, a fifth person walks in. She had no mask on. She walks up to Icarus, unlocks the device, and stares him down. Finally, she asks, "Where are the others?" to which he responds, "Why the hell would I tell you?"
"Because without that information, I will destroy everything in my path until I find them."
"They are saving this world from a doom that not even you could match."
"Then I will be doubly destructive."
"Why are you so blind? This world and my homeworld will both cease to exist! We will all die! Don't you get it?" There was a tense silence after that. Then Icarus moves very close to her and whispers intensely, "Join us. Help us defeat the gods and bring back stability to Goraldia. Or if you won't, then leave us alone. Interference is the worst option of yours."
"I will not join you, and I will not leave you alone. You are stuck here until I get enough information from you, and once I do, I will kill you. And don't even think about attacking us. My men are armed and you are powerless without your water. Now tell me, where are they all? I must stop this outbreak of the Materialized."
Icarus simply stands there in frustration. They stare at each other. She then commands, "Restrain him. He's going to need an interrogative 'push.'" The men march forward.
"Don't do that," Icarus warns, which slows down the men. "I don't want anyone hurt."
"And why shouldn't I?" she says. "You would be the only one getting hurt." By now the men were closer, but had stopped advancing out of fear. She looks around at them. "HE HAS NOTHING! GO! NOW!" she yells at them. They panic and rush forward.
"STOP!" Icarus demands. his voice booms louder than hers. "I will hurt you if I have to. I don't want to hurt anyone. You're making a-"
"Don't listen to what he says. Continue."
Icarus's face fills with fear mixed with sorrow. He then says, "You forget. I am a water wielder, but I don't need an external source." The next few events happen in very quick succession.
He raises his arm to the closest man. The man's eyes widen and he shrieks. Out from his chest, a torrent of blood comes flowing forth. The man falls to the ground dead. The blood courses through the air to the second man. The blood pierces him in the middle of his chest and comes out the back side of him. Icarus splits the remaining blood into two, and then to several smaller on each side. He makes the blood shards fly to the last two men. One had dropped his weapon, but the other had thrown it at Icarus. Icarus pulls the blood from the second man quickly and creates a shield of red water. Both men thump to the ground and the sword is caught suspended halfway through the shield. Icarus leaps forward to the girl, the blood flowing with him on either side. He tackles the girl to the floor and sets the currents into spikes, ready to launch into the girl's body. She struggles to get loose, but Icarus just traps her tighter.
"Would you mind telling me your name before I kill you, because I don't think you're going to let me keep you alive," Icarus tells her. She stops moving. She looks up at Icarus and with anger in her eyes, before sighing in defeat. "My... name is Skye," She says very slowly.
"Hi there, Skye. Would you mind opening that door over there?"
"Why would I do that for you?"
"I would say because I can kill you, but I guess that doesn't apply here. I'll let you decide. Either you open the door of your free will, or I make you."
Skye was silent. She refuses to oblige. Icarus gets up and backs away. As he backs away, Skye stands up. Icarus closes his eyes. Skye just stands there watching him until she felt her body tense up. Her eyes move without warning. She can't move any part of her body. The actions are surreal. She moves awkwardly to the door. Her hand lifts up and shapes itself into a fist. She knocks on the door, and the sliding slate moves open. Then she says, very unnaturally, "Open the door."
The slit closes and the door opens. Skye regains control of her body. The guard on the other side looks into the room as the torrent of blood shoots at him. The next moment, Icarus is in the doorway. He halts and turns around. "This is your last opportunity," Icarus tells Skye. "Leave," she retorts. Icarus shrugs and runs away.
Icarus darts through the hallways, looking for escape. He is stealthy, and no one notices him. After a time of scurrying around the halls, sunlight streams through a window. A window much too small to fit through, but a sign he was close. He finds a person in the next hallway, and decided to follow them. The person walks right to the exit. Icarus got lucky. The door closes and Icarus looks around for anyone else watching. He doesn't find anyone looking and heads for the door. Icarus struggles to get it open, when he realizes there's an internal lock. He'll have to find a window somewhere.
Icarus scrambled through the top floor halls and into rooms until he finds one with a window big enough to fit him. He rushes to it and tries to force it open. There was a window lock. Scolding himself for not seeing it, he unlocks the window. Footsteps echo from down the hall and get closer. Icarus pulls the window again, but the window doesn't want to move. "Come on. Come on. Come on," he whispers to himself. As a man walks past the door, Icarus finally gets the window open enough. The man hears the commotion and looks into the room. "STOP!" he yells.
Icarus jumps out the window and runs away as fast as he could. Then bells start ringing and people chase after him. Icarus rushes to the trees; the facility was in a small clearing. They did not follow him far once he was in the forest. Icarus had escaped.
He climbed a tree and waited there to find Dieter's lightning beacon, which showed itself to him only a few minutes later. Icarus looks to where it came from and gets off the tree. He heads to the lightning.
Icarus would rejoin the crew in a day's time.
