I AM SOOSSOOS SORRY FOR NOT UPDATING OHMYGOD

With the new year coming tomorrow, I promise to be working on my stories a lot more.

((oh damn i better not break that promise i italicized it too asdfjk;lkfjda))

I didn't remember much from last night. John and George told me I got drunk, wasted. But nothing too bad happened, they said.

Except for the fact that I probably embarrassed myself. Everyone must think I'm the weird new girl who sleeps with ghosts and gets drunk easily. What did Rune think of me?

Rune.

It hurt to think of him, and how he thought of me. Kat was probably in her den, laughing at the thought of me passing out.

I also had a terrible headache, and the taste of vomit was present in my mouth. My very first hangover.

I stayed in the shower, in the freezing water, for a prolonged time, thinking about my impression on everyone. The ongoing pangs in my head subsided a bit. My chocolate hair clung to my back, sopping wet. I didn't know why, but showers always calmed me. It was a place to think. There was a knock on the door.

"Lucy!" John's muffled voice called.

"Yeah?" I slid the curtain open a bit.

"Charlotte's here. I told her you're in the shower."

"Isn't she supposed to be in class?" I tried to read the clock, but it was foggy.

"The students are off for a couple of days. Yippie!" John cheered in a high pitched voice, making me chuckle despite my pain. I forced myself out of the shower, throwing on a black and white polka dot dress and drying my hair. I opened the bathroom door to find Charlotte standing in the hallway with a disgruntled look on her face.

Despite her face, she looked wonderful today. Decked out like a hippie, in a short, white ruffled dress with a long hemp necklace and hemp bracelets. Her lovely black hair was pulled up in a tiny bun, wrapped in a flower crown.

"You look great," I mused. A small smile inched on her disappointed face.

"You do too. But I heard you blow-dry your hair. We don't really use hairdryers here. You can let your hair dry naturally." Well at least that was the only thing Charlotte was upset about. It's a good thing she doesn't have too many problems in her life. Problems didn't seem to exist here.

I pondered on the thought. Problems. This is a bit of a perfect world wasn't it? Everyone was happy, learning, exploring.

"You look like you're thinking a lot," Charlotte pointed out. "The exact opposite of what alcohol does."

"Oh don't bring that up," I said as Charlotte laughed. "My head still hurts."

"Well don't think about it. Let's go have fun. Jani gave us all the next couple days off after success with the mission."

"So no school?" I asked, smiling.

"Actually, there are extra-curriculars. But they're just sports and the arts, and what can go wrong with that?"

"I can come?" I asked, getting excited.

"Of course! Jani wouldn't mind. After all, you're like her daughter."

Daughter. The word struck me with a startling comfort.

Today was a Monday, and Charlotte had volleyball. Since I knew I would flunk horribly, I stayed on the sidelines to watch. We didn't play volleyball inside; we were out on the sand next to the pond.
