John stood there in silence for the longest time.

"Who are you?" He asked, suddenly cautious.

"I'm Lucy...Diamond." My cheeks flushed as John burst into laughter. That was the same thing Richard and Paul did when I told them my name. My parents are lunatics; I know they did that on purpose after Paul explained to me the song.

"Lucy. Well, I can tell you that you're in the sky!" John continued to laugh, and I couldn't help but smile. He seemed so happy here.

"Yes, John, but it's not where I belong."

His laughter cut. His brow furrowed and his brown, brown eyes inspected me.

"You're Lucy, in the sky, with diamonds!" Smiling, he threw his hands up in the air. Silvery daggers fell from the sky, blinding my surroundings. From instinct, I ducked and flew into John's arms. Peering through my mess of hair, he grinned down at me. He was back to his mid 20's look, with the puffy hair and little gain of weight. There were diamonds all around us.

"Lucy in the sky with diamonds. And John," He sang. The garden was shining. John Lennon was holding me. I remembered my mission.

"John, we have to go.." I didn't want to go, honestly. I wanted to stay in this utopia with John and create whatever I want. And to stay with the wonderful John. I giggled for the umpteenth time.

George. George Harrison. Find him as well.

"Whoa," I stumbled out of John's hold. How much time do I have left? Is there time here? Will I get John back in time?

"Something wrong, love?" John was concerned again. I felt woozy, thoughts, commands, questions bombarding my blurring mind.

Spirits have to intertwine to return to Earth.

How am I going to do that? I was fighting the voice in my head.

Get close. Real close.

Okay.

I inhaled, bracing myself for the challenge, then smiled.

"Give me a tour of this place, John." He grinned again, as things slowly felt normal. He held out his hand, and with another giggle, I grasped it. His palm was surprisingly soft, and warm. Full of life. Together, we took a few steps, and the lucious, green garden slipped from our feet. We were at a hotel. I peered at the sign:

The Dakota.

A tremble ran down my spine. Something told me this was a bad place. I tried to remember why, but thinking just wasn't working in my brain.

I looked at John. He was also staring at me, also trying to gather my thoughts.

"You've heard of this place." I nodded.

"Where are we?"

'"This," John took my hand, and we were inside.

"Was the last place—though I've changed it to my preference— I got to see in my life."

I stifled my shock.

"Oh,"

Instead of a lobby, the floor was an ethereal ballroom. The seemingly endless stage was laced with infinitely tall, red velvet curtains. The walls were animated, roaming and crashing as waves of the ocean. The mist tickled my arms. The ceiling was a window to the sky, revealing a glimpse of the infinity of stars. Apparently it was now night. The floor seemed to be the only earthly feature, brown hardwood, but shined to have immaculate reflection.
