I followed Jani out to the 'backyard' of the building. She told us to have fun, and disappeared into the crowd. It was now night, and the sky was dark with the stars and the moon illuminating the sky. Solar light posts stood around the party. Sixties music was playing in the background. People were eating and having a good time. This was my first social event, as awkward as that sounds. I squeezed John's hand.

"This looks fun." I whispered excitedly. John grinned down at me.

"Yeah, it does. You should go eat first, Luce." He dragged me towards the food tables. Smells wafted that made my stomach rumble.

"Woah," I gushed as I grabbed a 'recycled' paper plate. The food was all vegetarian, creating a rainbow of vegetables and such. My mouth watered. I grabbed whatever I saw, ranging from potatoes to tofu to bisque.

John simply followed me, waving at fellow fans who were trying to contain their inner-fangirl.

"You're not going to eat?" I asked him, eyeing his empty hands. "Oh, sorry, never mind." I shook my head. John smirked at me.

"Don't really have an appetite," he teased. I laughed. "What would you like to drink?" John motioned towards the beverage table.

"Hm, sweet tea, please." I seriously wanted to sit down and stuff my face.

"Anything for you, darling." He said as he poured me a glass. What? Darling? What have I done to achieve that title? I practically ran to an empty wooden bench and plopped down. As I sipped some bisque, John came by and sat very close to me.

"Thanks." I smiled at him with soup in my mouth. He didn't answer, he just gave me one of those heart-melting small smiles and leaned into me. I continued eating and we sat in silence together. This, was bliss. I could do this everyday. Could I do this everyday? How long could John stay here? The idea of him leaving made me scared. I felt so comfortable around him, even more than with Jani or Paul or Ringo. If John left, I'd have to make new friends. Considering my past, that was nearly impossible. I was too introvert. My thoughts were interrupted as the girl and guy John and I met earlier slid into the other bench across from us.

"Hello," they said in unison, then laughed at each other. I felt a twinge of jealousy. I wanted a friend to laugh with like that.

"Hey." I said as I took a bite of stuffed squash. It sounds disgusting, but tastes like the opposite. "Hi," John said, finally taking his eyes off me.

"I'm a big fan John. Very big fan. I'm Kat by the way." Kat put on a dazzling smile and stuck her hand out.

"Thanks, Kat." John made an awkward smile; he couldn't shake Kat's hand. He could shake mine. I smiled to myself, and continued eating the magical food. Kat returned her hand, a frown on her face. "Introduce yourself!" She snapped at the guy next to her. Woah, pushy. Kat was gorgeous, but her attitude made her ugly.

"I'm Rune." The boy said. He was probably a younger than me, but gorgeous. He had hazel-grey eyes like Paul's, except they were younger and more vibrant. They hid behind boxy black-framed glasses. His blonde hair lay tousled around his face.

"Hi," I breathed. "I'm Lucy."

"Nice to meet you, Lucy." His voice saying my name gave me goosebumps. John noticed, and he pulled me closer to him. I looked at his face, etched with hints of jealousy. Woah, why would he be jealous?
