Chapter Twenty-Seven: We're Trapped!

I pull away from Ben and stare him in the eyes. "We have to go," I say. "They'll find us again in here if we stay, and we'll all be killed. We have to go." Ben nods. "We only have Jon and Aaron now and they have three of them, but they're stronger."

"Yea," Ben says. The ground suddenly shakes and I have to bend my knees to stay on my feet. There's running and panting. Aaron and Jon come running in.

"It's filling up with water!" Aaron exclaims and a wave of water rushes in from behind them. I grab Ben's arm and pull him along as I run. I can't let him fall behind. I just can't.

Suddenly, we all stop. Where the entrance had just been, is a wall of stone. "We're trapped!" I exclaim.

The roar grows louder and the wave crashes on us, but thankful the cave only fills to my knees. My pants get soaked and sticks to my legs, making me get slightly itchy. The water level begins to grow higher my the minute. I begin to panic.

"There's got to be a way out of here!" I exclaim, rushing to the water and trying to look for a space to out out from. Jon folds his arms. "But there's got to," I say before diving below the water.

The water's so dark I can't see a thing and my eyes begin to burn. I suddenly feel someone grab my arm and pull me up and out of the water. Cold air covers my whole body and I bite my bottom lip to not shiver.

Aaron lets go of my arm and places his arms firmly on my shoulders. "There's no way out," he says calmly. "So save your breath." I stare into his green eyes and try to take deep breaths to calm down.

"So we're all going to die?" Ben asks.

"Yes," Jon answers. I feel the water raise up to my waist. It's getting faster by the second. I pull away from Aaron. I wrap my arms around Ben. This is truly the end.
