I wake up to a knock at the door. "You have an hour before training," Nicolette says through the door. I groan and sit up. The horrors of life wait ahead.

I look up from my food. "So, Elena, do you have any ideas for allies?" Nickolette asks. I shake my head. "As far as I know, they think you're as cruel as most Careers. You can use it to your advantage."
"I want to get to know them first," I say. "What about you, Ben?"
Ben looks from his list. "I'm looking at the list and see a few. Maybe Jaelyn from District Twelve. She isn't that popular because of her age and has many useful skills like archery."
"You have a whole list, don't you?" Ben nods proudly.
"Alright, then, let's see them."

We walk into the room and the twenty tributes stare at us. "Jaelyn's here, let's ask her," Ben whispers.
"Come on, everyone," the man behind them says. "You may practice whatever you want and talk to others to make allies. Use your time wisely; you only have two weeks in here." The tributes turn and walk towards a station, leaving Ben, the man, and I in the center of the large room.
"Go on, you two," the man says.
I look at Ben. "I'll see you in a little while, okay?" I say and he nods. "Just try to be friendly." I turn and walk towards the knife throwing station.
