I pull back the string of the bow and let it go. The arrow flies into the dumpy's chest. "You did it," Ben says with a clap of his hands. I smile to myself. I turn my head to see Sarah and the weird kid from District 7 watching me. Everyone else is doing their own thing.
"It's not helping is it?" I ask.
"Not really," Sarah answers. "But you are pretty good."
"Thanks," I smile.
"Better luck at knife throwing," Ben says.

I chuck the knife at the dummy. The knife hits the wall. "Maybe knife throwing isn't your best thing to do," Ben says and sighs.
"Yep, I think you're right," Sarah says.
"Yea, so I have to try and get a bow and some arrows," I say. "Winning is going to be harder than it looks."
****
I lay down in my bed. I know I can't win. I won't. Ben has a better chance than me. I may be better at standing up for myself, but I also will die for him. I won't win. I can't win.
