A/N: If I made any mistakes, it might be spelling “dammit” wrong throughout the chapters. Then I don't make Zero talk in Haiku anymore since it is so hard to come up with an accurate one. So he'll talk almost like everyone else since it makes it easier. Also, before, in one of the chapters, Gaige hated Axton, but...I'll let you figure out what happens to them. And sorry for the language—I had to make them talk as close to the game. Sorry about the ending too...I try not to make another cliffhanger—I have a tendency to make them really often. -_-

Chapter 5-A Decisi0n Must Be Made

Maya leaned against the tree, still sitting with her hands behind her back. She was still bored. Ever since Zero had left her at the Wildlife Exploitation Preserve, she had been taken like an animal, shoved hard into one of the old enclosure. Then she was left sitting against the tree, staring at the wall ahead of her, talking mentally to herself saying, Bored.

But ever since she had arrived on Pandora, she had found herself changing greatly. Now, she got way too impatient way too quickly. Whenever they were slow on a mission or they were barely any closer to the Vault, she would wish that she could incinerate them all or Phaselock them into one tight group. But her guts had never gotten her to harm Zero.

To her, there was something about him that she believed only she would unlock. Only her. The assassin had been staring at her a lot, or she was always staring at him. She would see him talking to no one else, and especially Axton. Then she would see the assassin doing nothing else but either inspecting guns through his ECHO, “sharpening” his sword, or asking her about what they should have been doing. And he always talked to her, only her. Of all other people, it had to be this Siren. Though she knew personally that she liked it whenever they were in a room alone. Just the two of them. No one else with them.

“God! Snap out of it! Why should I love him if he left me in this mess?!” she snapped at herself. Though her answer in her head always said, You see something in him that no one else would see.

She was just about to mentally object when she heard footsteps approaching the door. She looked up and saw the door open, revealing a combat engineer. He walked up to her, slowly.

“Either walk faster, or untie me so I can incinerate you for being to slow!” she shouted, frustrated.

The engineer calmly (or so she thought) ignored her, moving forward still. He reached his hands out, the fingers curling and uncurling in a eerie sort of way.

The Siren grew nervous, scooting back whenever he came to close. She needed to act, now. If he comes to close, then he gets a kick. She kept moving until she bumped into the wall. “What the hell do you want?!” she screamed.

He grabbed her, dragging her out of the enclosure. Where was she going now?

??????????

“No. I want to know where she is! Now!” Lilith demanded, tempted to Phasewalk and strangle Zero to the floor.

    He shrugged, silent.

“Lil, calm down. He'll tell us.” Mordecai whispered, putting his hands on her shoulders to pull her back. He looked at the assassin, expecting him to answer.

    He still remained quiet.

“Slab, tell us now!” Brick ordered, coming into the computer room from the balcony. He had just done one-armed push-ups.

    He still didn't speak.

Axton sighed, shouting and shaking the assassin, “God dammit, Zero! Speak up already! Maya went to find you and now she's missing?!”
