Eliza's POV:
"Arg! Eliza, no!"
I dashed up the stairs quickly two by two and snickered to myself wickedly. I have been playing soccer all my life; Scarlett had no chance of catching me because I got to be so fast. She didn't play any sports--at all. She didn't participate in gym class, (I mean, who does) and most of all, she eats like a pig. So it was safe to say that it was quite easy beating her up the stairs into her bedroom.
"Sorry, Scar, didn't see ya there," I laughed, slamming her bedroom door shut and locking it. Oh, this was just too fun.
"Eliza Ann Hayes, you open this door up right now!" Scarlett pounded on the door, I could feel her irritation. I was just too stubborn. "I said you could only have one, not the entire package!"
I cradled the bag of candy in my hands and took out a Kit-Kat, starting to munch on it slowly. I've always had a things for Kit-Kats, maybe it's because I love chocolate. I also love to eat a good Twix, those were the bomb. One could call me a child for outrunning my best friend in order to have candy, but I think of it more as an adventure. Consider Scarlett as the horrible beast monster who wants my candy and I'm the helpless victim who flees away out of pure terror.
"I will get Aaron over here!" Scarlett threatened, pounding once more on the door.
My heart froze. Of course she would use Aaron to persuade me in opening the door, but I don't give in that easily. Sure, Scarlett has figured that I have a "soft spot" quote unquote for Aaron, but I am still a strong woman when it comes to defending my rights. I will go to battle, no, I will start World War Three if someone takes my food away from me. This is Amurica! Land of the free who also can be able to have candy rights. It's not written in the Declaration of Independence, but it should.
"Sure you will," I sang, opening a Milky Way. "And he will magically appear out of nowhere. Will he come through the walls Scar, or will he come out of the thin air." I snorted, pushing my back against the door and sliding down.
Silence.
Then, a phone--Scarlett's phone to be exact--comes sliding out of the bottom of the door and appears next to me. My mouth hung open, she was calling Aaron! There, on the screen, said Aaron Carrington. How the fudge did she get his number!
"Darling?" Came a voice from Scarlett's phone. I jumped about five feet into the air before Aaron continued to speak. "Eliza, you there?"
I should hang up.
I should.
I am a strong and independent woman!
I have rights...
"What?" I snapped into the phone, mentally slapping myself for giving into his voice. It just sounded so beautiful that I wanted to listen to it more. Beautiful? The fudge?
"Well, hello to you too," Aaron chuckled.
"Hi Aaron, what do you want?"
"It is Friday, two hours before the pep-rally, and you just had to steal candy from Scarlett?" I could hear the amusement in his voice. Ug, stupid Scarlett, traitor.
"It was a desperate time."
"Candy stealing isn't for desperate times, Eliza," he laughed.
"I was hungry, and the candy practically begged me."
"So candy can talk now?"
"Yup, it's scientifically proven in the labs of awesomeness."
"Mhm, sure," I heard him stifle a laugh. "Well maybe you can eat two more candy bars, give the bag back, and get ready. I'm picking you up in exactly...an four and fifty eight minutes." He sounded like a parent, ordering me to go sit in the corner for behaving badly.
