chapter 5"Excuse me while I kiss the sky"
❁☪☻❀☪♡
Everything was dark. Things were flying by me at a million miles per hour. Trees cliffs and ocean streaked with tiny flashes of light, all whizzing past on automatic, like when you changed the channel to fast. My face was smashed hard against the cold glass, all humming and rattling. The seat was bouncy, every little bump sending jolts up my back.
Bounce, bounce, bounce.
I sat up. Slowly peeled my face off the window.
Whoa.
My whole body felt sore. Like I'd just run half a marathon back in third grade or gone to one of my mum's cardio kickboxing class of Death five times in a row, like I had when I was 10. Big mistake, take it from me.
I touched my cheek and felt something wet.
Oh, gross. Did I totally just drool over myself?
I rubbed me eyes.
"We're back." Jax slammed his door, then came round to mine. I felt my eyes widen.
"So the kings are helping the captive now." I muttered when he opened my door.
Jax didn't say anything, just lead the way back up to the house.Ash rounded on us the moment we walked through the door.
"Get changed."
What?
"We're going out."
"Hey!" I half yelled, crossing my arms over chest, totally little-girl-tantrum style. "I get in a car accident then you send me off to get beaten up and now you're telling me we have to go out again."
I didn't know why I was so mad. Actually I did. How stupid was he? Did he seriously thing he could tare my family apart then just expect me to go along with everything he said? Huh? Well he was so wrong. There was no way in hell he was going to get away with this.
"Yes I am." Unlike me, who was practically screaming by this point, Ash was calm. Totally blasé.
"Fine." I smiled sweetly and walked away from him, up the stairs to my room. Or prison cell, which ever you prefer. Then the smile dropped off my face, and was released with a grimace.
The sick bastard.I slammed the bathroom door behind me, turning the shower water on full blast so it pounded on my back, so hot it was going to leave red marks. Despite the heat it felt good against my skin, which was still sore from being thrown around so much by that douche. I don't care how much they pretend to like me and be 'nice'. I will never forget what they have done to me. And I will never forgive them for it.

The club was heaving when we arrived, people already drunk out of their minds. A few guys were slumped on the floor completely unconscious as we made our way slowly through the room. Ash was already looking around at the other girls dancing, openly checking them out.
Typical.
"Right," he said, not even looking at me. "You can go have some fun until the guy comes. If he comes."
I stood with my arms crossed over my chest, watching as girls latched onto him as soon as he made his way to the bar. I felt a spark of jealousy, though I didn't know why. I hated Ash. Or that's what I kept telling myself.
I sighed, trying not to look anywhere in Ash's direction, where he had his lips glued to some blond skank's. Feeling someone standing behind me, I turned around, stepping backwards slightly.
"Demos?" I said incredulously, recognizing the perfectly chiseled features and captivating blue grey eyes of a man I had met once before. Someone who had always lingered in the back of my mind.
He dipped his head. "Been a long time, Cola."
Even his voice was hypnotic.
"How have you been?" His voice was husky and quite, I had to lean forward to hear him over the noise in the club.
I looked up at him, faking a smile. "Yeah, I've been pretty good." Over his shoulder I was Ash had two girls on his lap, slowly kissing his neck.
Gross.
I quickly looked up at Demos again."Dance?"
Demos snaked a hand around my waist, but it didn't make me want to shrink away, like usual. Exactly the opposite.I stared around the room, trying to work out which was the guy Ash wanted me to bait, or if he was even here yet. Considering the way most of the men in the club looked as though they would be easy suspects, it could have been any of them.
"Cola?"
"Mmh?" I fix my gaze back on Demos again. I remember when I first met him. Just after Caitlyn was killed. He taught me how to take care of myself; to stay strong and fight back when someone threatened me. He stayed with me for a while, at least until I had sort of gotten past the whole Caitlyn thing and was ready to move on. Back then I was so careless, and I miss it.
"Are you sure you're okay."
"Yeah," I said shortly, "what makes you think I'm not?"
Demos shrugged. "You're not easily distracted, but today you are. What's on your mind?"
"Nothing." I said it harder than I meant to. "Just-"
"Cola!" Ash came up behind me, grabbing the back of my dress and pulling me away from Demos, throwing him a disgusted look as he did so.
"What are you doing dancing with him?""I know him." I said, confused. "We were friends."
Ash threw Demos another dirty look. "did you want something?"
Normally I would have said something; I rude comment in defence of Demos, who probably had no clue what was going on. But that's what the real Cola would do, which was exactly why I kept my mouth shut, and stared silently at the dirty wooden floor.
Out of the corner of my eye I saw Demos glance at me, before shaking his head and turning to walk away. I let out the breath I didn't know I'd been holding. Who knew what Ash would've done to him if he had refused.
I looked up at Ash.
"Let's get out of here.' He grabbed my arm, pulling me roughly though the crowds of people towards the exit."But what about the guy?" I asked, trying and failing to free my arm from his grip.
"he didn't show up."
From his tone I could tell that Ash was anything but happy about this. "And it isn't the first time either. ""That's a bad thing right?" we passed the security guard at the enterence and stepped out, the cold air hitting my face, clearing my head from the little achole I had had, and making the hair on tmy arms stand up from the cold. The doors snapped shut behind us, shutting out the noise of the thumping bass from inside the club.
Ash loosed his grip on my arm. "Yes"
