Anniversary. (The cocky one)

Inside the gym, all you could hear was the squeaking of shoes and thumping of a ball. Training ended long ago, but you were still there. Training. You dunked once again, smirking in triumph. That's 13 to me, zero to them. You counted mentally. Them being your invisible foes.

The ball hit the ground, and rolled past you, only stopping when someone put their foot on it. You blinked once, raising your gaze to meet the blue eyes of your boyfriend.

"Oh, Tetsu. I thought you went home." It wasn't a question, but he answered anyway. "I thought I'd wait for you." He said, straightforward as always. You felt a warm flutter in your stomach, but you didn't let it show, opting for a cocky grin instead. "Naturally."

"Then (Y/N)-kun, are you ready to go?" Kuroko asked. You shrugged, "Yeah, sure. Lemme just put away the ball and we can lock up." Although, as you were about to pick up the ball, Kuroko beat you to it. You watched as he dumped the ball in the box, locking it, and made his way to you again. This time, you couldn't help smiling at him.

You both made your way outside, and you locked the door, as was your responsibility as manager. As soon as you started walking, you boldly slipped your hand into his, squeezing it as if daring him to comment. All you got was a squeeze in return.

Kuroko was silent through the walk, listening to you telling him about how you singlehandedly beat three older guys at street basket the other day.

"And then they were totally sore losers! They didn't even want to admit I had beaten them fair and square!" You ranted, throwing both hands up, taking Kuroko's with you. You boyfriend didn't hide his amused smile, watching you pout cutely, in his mind, and grin when telling him of your best moves.

The silence stretched a bit, now that your constant chatter had died down. "Hey Tetsu?" You muttered, a bit out of character. Kuroko stopped to look at you, confused at your change of attitude. "What is it (Y/N)-kun?"

You avoided his gaze, clutching your back almost nervously. "How long have we been together?" Kuroko blinked, trying to sense the logic behind your question. "About three weeks. Why do you ask?"

You didn't say anything for awhile, and neither did Kuroko. At last you finally broke the silence, hesitating. As if stepping on thin ice. "Well, our one month anniversary is coming up. And I thought.. Well, I thought we could, y'know- if you want to-" You were fumbling with your words and blushing by now.

"(Y/N)-kun. Please don't be nervous."

You took a deep breath, calming your nerves. "I thought maybe we could do something special!" You forced out, close to yelling. As Kuroko wasn't saying anything, you started excusing yourself.

"I mean, it's not like it's important or anything! I'm not some weak girl, who cries if we don't do something, I just thought that-"

Kuroko interrupted your rant by cupping your face with his hands. "(Y/N)-kun. That sounds nice." He said, smiling at you. You sighed, relieved and happy.

"T-that's great- I mean. Of course. Yeah." Before you could embarrass yourself any further, you stepped closer to plant a sweet kiss on the lips of your boyfriend, whispering "Thanks Tetsu." Before running into your residence.

Kuroko stood there for a minute, looking longingly after you. Then he sighed. "Yeah."
