(This is where the quiz shots end)
Summer Rain.
The rain was pouring down, wetting the pavement on the court. The cold drops created a sweet melody when they hit the (f/c) umbrella she had finally stolen back from Koganei. Trapped in a trance, she watched the scene in front of her. Thoughts of the past filled her head, making her heart heavy and her shoulders drop. The (h/c) strands blew in the slight breeze, but she paid it no heed. So caught up in her mind was she, that she didn't hear the footsteps of a person approaching her.
"You'll catch a cold if you stay here." She knew the voice in an instant, and she whirled around to face him. "Taiga! What are you doing out here?" She questioned, surprised at being interrupted at this place.
"Figured you'd go here in this weather. You told me once that you loved the rain." He answered sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck. He was embarrassed, she noted with a smile. "I can't believe you remember that. So you really were listening." She teased him, welcoming the comforting warmth in her heart from his words.
Kagami frowned, blissfully unaware of the blush painting his face red. "'Course I did, I always do." He muttered. She smiled, oblivious to the affects it had on him, and turned back to the court she had been watching.
"I really do love the rain. I love the sound of it, the smell of wet pavement, the way it paints everything in a way some find sad. I don't find it sad, I see it as romantic. Inspiring." She ranted her heart out to him, comfortable and safe knowing that he would never laugh at her. He wrapped his arms around her shoulders, resting his chin on her head. Only when she felt the heat he radiated did she notice how cold she had been, only standing there in a summer dress. Seeking warmth she cuddled closer to him, raising the umbrella higher so he could fit underneath it too.
If anyone had ventured out at that time, and if they happened to cross the two lovers, they might've been comforted by the heartwarming scene. Two youngsters, sweetly in love, standing in the rain on a basketball street court, embracing and sharing umbrellas. No one took the time to enjoy the summer rain, too caught up in the stress of their lives, so the moment was kept between the lovers only.
