I was a pretty famous YouTuber. I did gaming videos which were the best kind if you ask me.

I was still in high school and I was currently sitting in my ninth period class hoping the bell would ring sooner so I could go home and record.

"Benjamin Franklin was..." My history teacher kept going on about useless stuff that I wouldn't need to know-the people were dead, who cares?

My eyelids start to droop when I hear a loud ringing noise.

"Yes!" I blurt, jumping out of my seat and rushing out of the classroom to my locker.

I quickly spin the dial to my combination numbers and shove my social studies binder and notebook.

"Hey, is this yours?" A girl asks from behind me, holding an envelope with my name on it.

"Uh, yeah I guess. Thanks." I take it from her hand and smile.

"No problem." Right before she leaves she smiles too. "I love your videos by the way."

"Thanks again." I blush and she's off.

I slip the envelope in my bag and finish packing. Then I zipper it up, rushing outside to get on the bus.

After sitting alone in my seat for about fifteen minutes, I run out to my house and unlock my door quickly.

I had no homework today and my parents weren't home, so I set up my camera.

And then I remember:

The envelope.

Before I can even think twice, I grab my bag and search through it until I find the envelope.

I open it and see two pixel game characters drawn on the front.

"Mario is red, Megaman is blue,"

I flip to the next page.

"Will you be my player 2?"

That's the cutest way a guy has ever asked me out! But who was it from?

I feel my phone buzz in my pocket. I accept the call when I realize it was by best guy friend, Shawn.

"Hey, Shawn, wassup?" I ask, still studying the card.

"Oh, um, I was wondering if I could come over?" He sounded nervous.

"Yeah, of course!" I smile. "But you'll have to record a video with me."

"That's fine. See you in five." He says.

"Yup," I end the call and grab a game for Shawn and I to play. The Sims sounded fun.

When Shawn and I were in middle school, I got a Sims account and Shawn thought it was the coolest thing ever. So he insisted that we made one for him and one for me. And somehow we still have them.

I get the game started on my laptop and wait for Shawn to arrive. I hear a knocking at my door.

"Hey, it's open!" I call, knowing its Shawn based on how he knocked.

He walks inside and sits down on the couch next to me.

"Ready to play?" I ask.

"Oh, right. Sure." He says, frowning a bit.

"Shawn are you okay?" I ask, grabbing his hand.

"There's just this girl...and....and I don't think she knows I like her."

"Hey, Shawn I'm sure she does!" I smile, gripping his hand tighter.

"No, she doesn't." He gets up. "I-I have to go."

"Shawn, wait!" I stop him. "Who is she?"

"I can't tell you..." He says, looking at the floor.

"C'mon you can tell me anything." I say.

"Well...wait. When did you get that?" Shawn asks, pointing to the pink card in my hand.

"Oh, some girl gave it to me. She said she thought it was mine since it had my name on it, but she didn't say where she found it." I say and hand the card to Shawn.

"You weren't supposed to get that yet." I hear him mutter under his breath.

"What?" I ask.

"Um, listen, Y/N." He sighs. "The girl is...the girl is you."

"M-me?"

"Yeah, but I know you don-"

"Shawn, now you need to listen." I say. "Was this from you?"

"Yeah," he says.

"Well, I think that card was the cutest thing ever. I've had many boys ask me out in many different ways. But this is definitely the best. And, Shawn, I think I like you, too." I say, smiling.

"You do?" He asks and I nod.

"I do." I laugh and hug him tight. "I think that card has definitely made you boyfriend goals."

He laughs and pulls away from the hug. "Let's play now."

"Whatever you say." I smile.

"One more thing." Shawn stops me. "You're being player 2."

so much cuter in my head omg. I saw TST last night so if you want a pretty close to spoiler free review, go check out my other story "Forgiveness is the Key to a New Start". if any book fans are going to/have already seen it, tell me your opinion! it was a great movie in general, but lacked basically everything from the book. THERE WAS NO THOMESA AND THOMESA IS MY OTP OKAY? OKAY! I was SO mad when they took out the Thomesa kiss because, let's be honest, that was the best part in the book. Alright, I'm done ranting on this book.

Don't see the Scorch Trials if you expect it to be like the book,
