The glittery morning sunlight shines through the window above the bed and Cas's eyes flutter open. Cas realizes too soon that, where Dean was tangled with him last night, he isn't there now. He slides out of the bed and walks across the cold floor. He opens the creaky wooden door and trots downstairs.
"Mornin." Dean says from the kitchen. Cas smiles and walks over to Dean who is positioned by the stove, watching some eggs sizzle in a pan. Cas wraps his arms around Dean's waist and lays his head on his back. Dean smiles and releases the pan to put his hand on Cas's.
Can I kiss him yet? Dean thinks to himself as he flips the eggs around the pan.
Please kiss me. Cas thinks. Cas stays holding Dean, feeling his muscles relax and flex each time. Cas slips his arms away and Dean tenses up uncomfortably.
"What's on the menu?" Cas asks.
"Eggs, for now. I can make something else when we get home." Dean explains, dishing out the scrambles eggs. Cas sits at the table staring at them.
"They won't bite." Dean whispers over Cas' shoulder.
"You never know." Cas smirks. They eat breakfast while Dean explains what will be going on for the day.
"I want to rebuild the house." Dean declares.
"I thought you wanted to move to a cabin." Cas reminds. Dean pauses.
"Right, come on then. We should get packing." Dean says dropping their dishes in the sink.
"What about fixing the truck?" Cas asks.
"I'll do that. Here." Dean says sliding a remote off the counter and tossing it at Cas.
"Watch TV. I'll get you when I'm done." Dean says closing the door behind him. Cas shrugs and flicks on the TV. He settles on the couch watching a show that has been identified as "Doctor Who".

Dean wipes the left over grease off his hands and quietly walks around to the back of the couch. Cas is sitting, leaned against the back of the couch watching a show with people who speak in a very posh way. Dean smirks and leans down, he tilts Cas's head ever so slightly to the side and touches his lips to Cas's neck. Cas sucks in a breath and closes his eyes. Dean's hand holds Cas's head up as he trails gentle kisses along his jaw line. He stops and tilts Cas's head back, he hesitates momentarily before touching his lips to Cas's. Cas sighs a breath and loops his fingers through Dean's already messy hair. He tugs gently and feels Dean smile against his mouth. Dean pulls away and flips himself over the back of the couch. He pushes Cas down so he is laying on the couch and kisses him again. Cas pulls Dean's head down and ther mouths slide against eachother. Dean pulls backwards slightly and moves down to kissing Cas's neck again. Dean's shirt slides down to his shoulder blades as he straddles Cas. He gently bites Cas's neck and Cas pulls Dean down on top of him. Cas is breathing heavy and uneven while Dean is relaxed, calm and gentle.
"I'm not fragile, Dean." Cas reminds.
"I still don't want to break you." Dean growls in a low voice. He sits up and instantly Cas wants more but Dean refuses with a small laugh.
"Come on, Dean. One more minute." Cas pleads. Dean looks down into his starry blue eyes and leans down so that they are an inch apart.
"No." Dean growls and swings off Cas, he makes a weak attempt at a run with his shot leg before it turns into a limp.
"Take it easy, tiger." Cas comments as he walks around the corner with a smug look on his face.
"Shut up. I'm fine, Cas." Dean says in a serious tone.
"Oh really?" Cas asks sarcastically.
"Cas!" Dean barks. "I'm not used to not being able to move! Stop rubbing it in!" Dean commands.
"Then maybe you shouldn't have gotten shot!" Cas yelps back.
"I saved my brother!" Dean shouts with tears in his eyes.
Dean's flat face scans Cas' scared, little face and softens.
"I'm sorry." Dean's voice is a huff of breath towards Cas before he turns and runs out of the house in a limp.
"Dean!" Cas calls as the door slams shut. Cas runs to the door and swings it open jumping off the stairs after Dean. He catches him at the end of the driveway.
"Dean wait. I'm sorry, okay? I wasn't there. I'm sorry." Cas wraps his arms around Dean and he is shaking.
"I don't even think he was drunk." Dean mumbles into Cas' shirt.
"Wait, what?" Cas asks.
"He was an alcoholic. I don't think he was drunk. I think he wanted to kill me on purpose." Dean says staring at nothing other than a fibre of Cas' shirt. Dean's eyes look empty. Nothing but a hollow green circle that takes much more than understanding to fill. Cas tilts his head up and touches their lips together. Dean's hand tangles itself into Cas's hair and he melts as Cas pulls away ever so gently to note every point that their lips connect and disconnect.
"Let's go home." Cas whispers. Dean looks up at Castiel with full adoration and trust. Castiel makes a promise to himself to never leave Dean.
