Dean slips out of bed silently and dresses in his usual attire for work at the garage. Blue jeans and a dark blue t-shirt. Dean silently walks to the stairs and peers into the living room. His dad, John is asleep on the couch with a beer bottle hanging from his fingertips. Dean sighs and hits his forehead on the railing before walking to Sam's room. He opens the door and shuffles to Sam's bed side.
"Sammy." Dean shakes Sam gently.
"Dean?" Sam asks sleepily.
"I'm off to work. Dad is passed out on the couch. Same drill as usual. Do what he says until I get home." Dean instructs.
"Okay. Have a good day." Sam mutters.
"Be good." Dean says before hugging his brother and pulling the blanket back over his shoulders and exiting the room. Dean tosses a backpack over his shoulder and slips on his shoes before quietly shutting the door and running to work.~~
"Hey, Benny." Dean cheers as he runs up through the open garage bay door.
"Hey Kiddo, get out of the house alright?" Benny questions as he stares down at some papers.
"Yeah. Anythin' new?" Dean asks as he sets his bag down.
"New appointment in a few hours, we can finish up on the TransAM over there so she is ready for tomorrow though." Benny instructs.
"Alright." Dean agrees and slips a wrench off the table before heading over to the lifted, dark blue vehicle and gets to work.~~
"Hey." A boy says with a sigh. Benny looks up.
"Oh yeah, you are the appointment with the Mach one! Castiel Novak, right?" Benny exclaims.
"That's me." Castiel smiles.
"Alright. Why don't you bring her on round the back and we'll take a look." Benny inctructs. Cas nods. Benny slides away from the front desk and walks to the garage. Castiel pulls into the space slowly and carefully before turning the car off.
"Alright. What do we have here?" Benny asks. Cas pops the hood and Benny looks at the engine.
"Whoa." He breaths.
"Shiny. Aint she? You good at tuning engines?" Cas asks.
"Let me make a few calls on that." Benny says and walks off.
"Son of a bitch." Cas hears a voice echo. He peers around a lift to look at a boy leaning over the engine of an sleek black vehicle. He pulls a wrench a few times on several different things before switching to a socket wrench, making a few more adjustments and slipping into the cab to turn on the engine.
"Yes, baby." He cheers. He melts against the side of the car before leaning away and dropping the hood down.
"Alright so!" Benny comes back out.
"Who's he?" Cas asks.
"Oh that's Dean. He is seventeen but has more knowledge on an engine than anyone here." Benny explains.
"I want him to work on my car." Cas requests.
"Requests pay a little more." Benny explains.
"Okay. Deal." Cas says.
"Hey, kid!" Benny calls. Dean whips around.
"Yeah?" Dean calls.
"Come'ere!" Benny waves him over. Dean jogs over and looks at the Mach 1 with Cas leaning on the hood. He whistles.
"Damn." He exagerates.
"Castiel here, requests that you work on his car." Benny says.
"No way. This one?" Dean asks skeptically. Cas opens his arms and nods.
"This one." He says.
"What's she need done?" Dean asks.
"Tuning." Cas answers.
"Easy!" Dean says and flips a socket wrench in his hand.
"I'll leave ya to it." Benny says. Cas pops the hood and Dean leans in.
"Whoa baby." He lets out a short laugh.
"Think you can tune her?" Cas asks.
"What's in it for me?" Dean questions glancing at Cas sideways.
"A race. My Mach 1 against your Impala." Castiel challenges.
"Winner gets?" Dean asks.
"Anything of their choice." Castiel confirms.
"Deal." Dean sets the socket wrench and gets to tuning.
