"Dean give me the keys." Cas sighs. Dean dangles the keys between his fingers and hand them over as he glares at Cas.
"No wait. Give em back. I can drive!" Dean protests.
"No. We have been arguing over keys for an hour and a half. I'm driving. You are directing." Cas declares.
"Bitch." Dean huffs.
"Assbutt." Cas retorts.
"Assbutt?" Dean questions, confused.
"Yes, Assbutt." Cas responds.
"Why Assbutt?"
"Because Ass just wasn't enough." Cas declares.
"Oh-kay." Dean replies sarcastically.
"What?" Cas asks in an accusing voice.
"Speaking of ass mot being enough," Dean leans right next to Castiel's ear.
"Yours is amazing." He whispers. Cas shivers and a dorky-lopsided smile appears on his face.
"Treat my baby like a diamond." Dean glares.
"I will." Cas puts up his hands in surrender. Dean gets in the passenger seat with a huff.~~
"Turn here." Dean directs as the last turn. Cas carefully turns into a dirt driveway and Dean gets out almost immediately. Cas watches as Dean limps and makes slow progress before turning around the corner of the house. Cas gets out of the car and follows silently. He turns the corner to see a big black, glossy truck with a chrome line streaking down the side.
"It was my dad's." Dean comments as he runs his hand over the doors and hood inspecting the truck.
"How do you plan on getting back home with the truck?" Cas asks.
"I-." Dean stops and stares at the ground.
"I can't drive. I need to fix it up so I guess maybe just stay the night and figure out the rest tomorrow." Dean declares.
"Sam is staying the night at my house." Cas confirms.
"Okay, cool." Dean says and steps forward. His leg buckles and drops him onto the ground.
"I'm gettin real sick of this." Dean growls before yanking the bandages off. He does a lopsided jog up the stairs into the house and opens a cabinet. It is full, each and ever shelf, foor to ceiling, left to right, back to front. Full of liquor. Cas stares as Dean slips a bottle off the shelf, uncaps it, rips the sleeve off his t-shirt and dumps half the bottle onto his leg. All Dean does it wince once. Cas can't even look at Dean's injury because it hurts Cas to look at.
"There we go." Dean says gulping down some of the liquor. Cas stares and Dean walks over. He gently tilts Cas's head backwards and lets a few drops from the bottle slip over Cas's lips. Cas snaps from his daze and takes the bottle from Dean.
"Hey!" Dean's speech is already slurred.
"Dean! This can make even an alcoholic drunk in ten seconds flat!" Cas scolds.
"Come onnnnnn." Dean whines. He takes the bottle and tilts it against Cas's lips again. Cas backs away but Dean follows. Cas gives in and let's Dean fill his mouth with the bitter-hot liquid. He gulps it down hurriedly.
"Drunk yet?" Dean asks in a measures voice.
"Yes." Cas replies.
"You sure?" Dean asks.
"I'm on the sober edge." Cas corrects himself.
"Okay. Good. You are still sober. Here." Dean says switching the bottle out for a water bottle. Cas drinks all the water.
"Better?" Dean asks. Cas just stares at Dean with a blank expression.
Kiss me. Cas thinks. Dean takes a step forward and reaches out to Cas's shoulder before thumping his hand on it twice and laying down on the couch.
"I have to put more alcohol on it tomorow morning. You can sleep down here or upstairs in a bed." Dean instructs.
"What about you? What if. I want to sleep with you?" Cas stutters through the sentence nervously.
"Then chose a spot and I'll follow." Dean stares up at Cas's blue puppy dog eyes. Cas reaches out his hand silently with a determined look on his face. Dean looks at it a cocks an eyebrow. Cas gestures again and Dean stands up slowly staring at Cas. He walks towards him with a small smirk on his face. Cas begins walking backwards with every step that Dean takes forward. Cas trips on an uneven board that has found itms way about an inch above the rest of the floor. Dean reaches out and wraps his hand around Castiel's waist, catching him. Cas sucks in a breath of suprised and barely releases it when Dean slips his arm up to Cas' shoulders and under his leg. Dean contently stares ahead but Cas stays completely still.
How is he doing this with his injuries? Cas thinks. Dean walks upstairs with a little bit of struggle.
"You can put me down." Cas says. Dean seems to ignore him.
"Dean." Cas whispers. Dean looks down at Cas with a suprised expression.
"You can put me down." He whispers again. Dean bunts open a door with his toes and walks over to the bed, setting Cas down. Treating him like a baby animal. Delicate, rare, unique and special. Dean's eyes flicker around to everything he is doing while Cas's eyes stay on Dean. Dean takes a few steps to the door before closing it and wandering back to the bed. He then tosses a white, stained comforter over Cas and lays down on top of it, on the opposite side of the bed.
"Goodnight, Cas." Dean mutters.
"Goodnight, Dean." Cas replies softly. Cas falls asleep quickly while Dean can't sleep. He continues staring at the old, wore, water stained boards making a wall. His eyes flicker to the desk and the books around it. He spots a piece of new white paper sitting in the middle of the desk. He stands up, careful not to awaken Cas and pads across the old uneven floor. He picks up the piece of white paper, gingerly holding it between his callased fingers.Dean,
If you ever do come back here, to this room for whatever reason, this note should be here. It is a request. Remake the house, the exact same way, just with newer materials that won't rot.
I never intended to leave for years, boy. You know that. Whoever shot me, may be coming for you next. Be careful.Bobby.
Dean sets down the letter carefully back on the table and smiles. Dean has wanted to rebuilt the house for a long time. There is a small whine from the bed and Dean limps over to the edge of the bed, on Cas's side. Cas is shivering and has a worried expression plastered on his face. Dean pushes the blanket aside and moves Cas over gently before laying down and pulling Cas against him. Cas instantly relaxes and as if by instinct, their legs tangle together. Dean yanks the blanket back over them and wraps his arms around Cas. Dean closes his eyes and falls asleep the easiest that he ever has.
