Audrianna's P.O.V

"I cant believe this dude is late getting me to school again!" I said to my best friend Jailene, during our morning phone conversation.

"Come on, be for real, Audrianna, you already know how this shit goes. I don't understand why you act so surprised, like this is the first time this has happened."

"Jai, i'm just saying, I can't rely on him for nothing. I told him, over and over last night that I would not have a ride because my brothers had something else to do.

"Messiah is gonna do him regardless, this is something you already know!"

" I know Jai. The truth hurts, I guess."

"Yes, it does, but it doesn't have to be your reality. Don't be a sucka for love all ya' life! You are putting way too much into that ain't shit ass nigga, but that's your relationship, which is none of my business. Look, I have to run, first bell just rung. You can borrow my notes because fucking with Messiah, your ass is liable to miss school!"

"You ain't never lied! Thanks girl, I owe you"

Jailene Rodriguez and I have been friends since birth. We were born on the same day January 23rd and at the same hospital, Harlem Hospital. Our families had been friends forever. We always spent holidays and vacations together. Jai and I have similar taste and agree on just about everything, except my relationship with Messiah. Jai always tried to warn me about him because she felt he wasn't any good! I Know she means well, but damn, it is my life.

For the past two years, Jailene has been dating Messiah's best friend Danny. Danny actually hooked Messiah and me up. Danny's cool people. He's a real laid back dude and I'd known him all my life. Did I mention they work for my brothers Nick and Ant?

At first, I was kind of intimidated by Messiah; being with a dope boy was the last thing on my mind. On our first date, he took me Ice skating, and i saw a softer side of him that i grew to love. He was a little rough around the edges, but he was still a good catch.

Messiah Jones is that dude! He pushed major weight and spoiled me rotten. I live in Sugar Hill with my big brother, Nicholas. We live in a five bedroom, six bathroom, mini- mansion. I Feel like a princess in my castle, it's so big!

Some people say i'm spoiled, but i call it privileged. Believe me when I say. I'm far from being a materialistic person. Peeking out my window, I saw Messiah finally pulling up in his Jeep Wrangler. I couldn't stop the small smile that instantly formed on my face. As much as he gets on my damn nerves, when it was all said and done, I chose this life.

As i was locking up the house, Danny came over to give me a hug.

"Sis, it's my fault and i'm sorry." he said with a smile. Me knowing better, I knew he was just covering for Messiah.

"Danny, don't be tryna run damage control. I'm late for school and missing out on important notes for my exams!"

"If you get in already, I can get you there!" Messiah yelled from the driver seat.

" I suggest you lower your tone and good morning to you too, rude ass!" I rambled off while slamming the door to the truck as I was getting in.

"Good morning love, you look good."

"When don't I?" I Said in a sassy voice. "And Messiah, while you're trying to distract me, just know I'm still mad! You are constantly thinking the sun rises and sets on your ass! You just don't get that I should be a fucking priority in your life. I keep giving you chance after chance. You ain't gonna be satisfied until I leave your dumb ass alone."
