Digging Deeper

...Lucy's POV...

The last two days flew by pretty uneventful I'd say although the closer Friday had come the more nervous I became. I tried to convince myself that it was only because of everything going on but every time I saw Natsu my heart would stop and I couldn't help but stare at him uncontrollably. Gosh I'm pathetic.

I sat in Mirajane's class with only thirty minutes left of school till the weekend as a nervous wreak for no reason at all. I watched Natsu, Gray and Erza play some cards arguing about Natsu cheating since he'd won four rounds in a row while Levy was trying to teach Gajeel Latin which was hilarious because he couldn't roll his tongue worth a crap. I just doodle pointless patterns across my notepad lost in space.

"Hey luce ready for dinner?"

I jumped not realizing Natsu had came to sit beside me.

"A little jumpy are we? You okay?"

I nodded afraid to speak yet and eyed Natsu from my blonde shield I called my hair. He had his head tilted to the side like a dog which made me laugh.

"Yes I'm ready. As you can see." I gestured to myself.

"I'm wearing a nice outfit and I brought my appetite that's for sure."

Natsu shook his head in disappointment.

"That's what you get for skipping lunch Lucy you can't do that ya' know. It's bad for you. A full tummy is a happy one."

Pftt. "Whatever you say Natsu."

The bell rang than making me jump yet again. Everyone got up and started leaving. I grabbed my bag and caught my boot on the edge of my desk tripping and falling to the ground, but right before I hit Natsu caught me and pulled me to his chest. I looked up surprised. He blushed and let me go after making sure I was steady.

"Clumsy you're going to really hurt yourself one of these days."

"I know but try telling that to my feet."

I pointed down. He sank to eye level with my knees and tapped my foot.

"Hey could you watch it my friends trying to kill herself try to prevent that you hear."

I busted out laughing at Natsu's goofiness.

...Time skip in Natsu's car...

I sat buckled up in Natsu beautiful Hyundai veloster eyeing all the cool buttons and colors. Natsu showed me a bunch of stuff on the way to dinner, right before we got there he blind folded me saying it was a surprise. When he finally took it off we were parked at a fancy place called Zeref's taste of culture. I gapped at all the fancy cars sitting outside.

"N-natsu how m-much did you pay for this?"

He looked at me confused, that seems to happen a lot, than realization hit him.

"Ah crap I forgot you don't know much about my home life. Well I get in free as do my friends and stuff cuz' this is my older brothers place he owns it plus several others around the country. He doesn't like to use magic for money and always did love cooking if I remember right so he put all his talent into it."

Natsu beamed proudly. I smiled softly appreciating the fact Natsu loved his family so much. Wish I could say the same. We were seated pretty secluded from everyone else in the restaurant, all the staff knew Natsu well and we're extremely happy to meet me for some strange reason.

"Can I order for you luce? You k-know since I know all the food here pretty well."

I shook my head yes not really paying attention as I explored all the Gothic, antique architecture that was Zeref's taste of culture. All this decor must have cost a fortune, I could buy like three house for the price he'd spent on this stuff is swear. Me and Natsu talked a little over dinner as he explained more about his brother whom from ear seemed pretty awesome. Hope I get to meet the guy one day since it seems he's not here often and is almost never home. We left after Natsu shoved 15 strawberries in his mouth proving to me that he could do it. I laughed. My sides hurt from so much laughing tonight I think I'd burst. As we were about to pull up to the parking by my dorm Natsu's phone went crazy. He answered and put it on speaker so I wouldn't feel left out. Geez the goofy fool.

'Hey Natsu I hate to do this to you and all but could you find a place to crash tonight? Juvia's going to stay the night and we have a lot to talk out... soooo can you do me this huge favor?'

Natsu seemed deep in thought.

"Well I guess. See ya' around Gray."
Gray thanked him like a thousand times before hanging up.

"So uhm where are you going to stay Natsu?"

I asked curious of where he planned to go.

"Guess my car heh heh."

"But why! Why not go to your brothers house and stay there?"

He shook his head no.

"He still not home and I don't remember the code to get in the house."

Oh man this kid needs some major help that's for sure. I thought for a moment before deciding to make a huge mistake I knew I wouldn't like making.

"Well uhm I-I guess you know could... s-stay at my place for now..."

Natsu looked at me surprised.

"And we won't have to meet up in the morning tomorrow to hang out.."

I trailed off. He just stared at me for a minute before smirking.

"You want me to stay with you luce? I bet you just want to catch a peek of me with my shirt off. Huh? Or cuddle with me possibly?"

"WHAT! NO WAY! I WAS TRYING TO BE NICE GEEZ!"

He laughed and put his hand on my head. I looked up at him, what the hell is going on in that giant head of his?

"I'm just kidding luce calm down. I'd love to stay at your place. My cars not that comfy anyways. It's built for speed not comfort heh."

I nodded and opened the car door, Natsu did the same and locked the doors. As we walked up my dorm stairs I turned after thinking something.

"H-hey Natsu I remember the handbook said boy's weren't supposed to be at the girls dorms."

I fumbled with my skirt looking down. Natsu poked my cheek and I glanced up.
"You know no one listens to the rule book right? I mean that's why I'm staying with you and not Gray. Plus Masters never very strict with these kinda rules anyways."

I thought for a moment and nodded. Yeah he's right. I turned my key and opened the door.

"Okay I'm going to get ready for bed. You can sleep on the couch, I'll bring you a pillow and blanket be right back!"

I shut my bedroom door changed quickly feeling slightly flustered knowing Natsu was in my living room. I grabbed a pillow and blanket than walked out, Natsu was perched on my couch watching tv. I threw the pillow at him hitting his face which had surprised him and made him fall on the floor. I laughed so hard I'd thought I cry. He got up and tackled me, as we laid on the floor I blushed as Natsu's face got closer to mine.

"You're gonna pay for that luce."

He said with his hair covering his face and an evil grin in place.

"W-what are y-you going to d-do?"
He laughed evilly and than started tickling me hardcover.
"Ha!Hahaha. S-stop Natsu please!"

I screamed in laughing horror. I pushed him off finally after getting in some tickling myself. We were both in a fit of laughter. He glanced at me and gave me a genuine smile. Than put his hand on my cheek.
"Thanks for lettin' me stay luce."
He pulled me closer and I froze what is he going to do! Kiss me? No! I'm not ready not yet. He placed his lips on my cheek and backed away leaving me confused and happy. I stood up and walked to my room.

"Night luce see you tomorrow!"

"Y-yeah tomorrow Natsu."

I laid down happily and fell asleep holding my cheek. Goodnight Natsu.
