Chapter 8

Chapter 8:

Liam's POV

"Just follow me." She said.

Why did I listen to her?

It was a bit of a struggle, but we did it. We climbed to the very top of the gazebo, which is about 140 feet off the ground. (A/N: 140 ft. = 42 meters) We left our shoes on the ground.

"Don't you think we could get hurt? Especially you, if you hurt yourself what would happen to you in dance?" Panic filled my voice.

"Don't worry, nothing will happen, we are just above the sand, and sand isn't hard." Jacey reassured.

I sighed. "Ok, but if I get hurt, you will also get hurt."

She stood up from her forward position.

"Aw," she said as she placed one of her hands on my cheek, "you can't hurt a girl."

"You can by taking all their pads away from them when they have their period." I muttered.

She snapped up. "What?"

"Nothing."

"Ok, I'll go first." She said.

She jumped off the roof of the gazebo and in mid-air, did a flip. She landed in the sand, which she said she would've.

"Your turn!" She called up at me.

I was terrified.

I jumped and did the same flip as Jacey. I landed just a couple feet away from her.

"Yay! You're alive!" She said while coming towards me, with both pairs of shoes in hand, and hugging me.

"Yeah." I said, still a bit shaky.

"Ok. I think we should call it a day and go back to your place."

She smiled and nodded.

"Oh, but first," she said as she took out her phone. "let's take a picture!"

She snapped a quick photo and uploaded it to Instagram.

The walk back to Jacey's house was very quiet. There's nothing really to talk about since we don't know a lot about each other. We got back to her house just as the sun was setting.

We walked up the stairs as I said, "I'm not staying with you ad your family."

"Where are you staying?"

"I'm staying in a hotel for the time that I'm going to be here with you."

"Oh." She said quietly.

"Well, I uh, better go now." I stammered.

"Yeah, me too." She said grabbing my hand. "This was fun." Jacey added.

"Yeah. We should do it again."

"How about again, next week? It's my sisters birthday party."

"Sure." I said awkwardly.

"Ok well see you then." She said before walking into her house.

'This,' I thought, 'was the best day ever.'
