Ashley's POV.
Oh shit.
'Indeed'
"I heard about how you were going to leave... me" he says ever so slowly and snidely. He is eerily quiet for someone so violent.
"I.... I have a class... Alpha Cole" I say and try to slip beside him but he stops me by my waist and slams me on the wall beside the door with my both hands above my head.
"No you don't. You have a free lecture. And so do I. Now.... something about you... leaving ?" He says indifferently.
"Mr. Mason..."
"Cole... to you...."
"Alpha Cole... please let me go"
"No"
"No ?"
"No"
"What 'no' You asshole ? Let me go before rip your skin out !"
Oops.
I stop struggling against him and freeze. He freezes too. I can't believe I just said that. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. Can't you keep your mouth shut ?
"What did you just say ?" He asks eerily quiet.
"Uh.... hey Josh. Didn't see you there" I say thankful for the interruption.
"Bet you didn't" Josh says from the doorway. Cole turns to take him in and turns his back to Josh growling lowly. Josh rolls his eyes and turns to look at me.
'Tell him' his eyes say. I look back with pleading eyes asking him to drop it. But Cole notices this and he moves in front of me y sight-line where I can see Josh.
"Leave" Cole orders in his Alpha tone. Normal wolves would've bended down to their knees at that command and the power it held even if it wasn't directed at them. But Josh was an Alpha descendent hence it didn't effect him. Now me. I am a whole different story. I released an annoyed puff of air not realising that Coke might suspect something. But he did. His command didn't work on me. We had established that earlier. But what he realized now was that I wasn't even intimidated by his presence.
I widen my eyes in realisation. Cole's eyebrow rises up.
"Talk" he says to no one in particular.
I sigh. 'Ashley, tell him. At least we will have the satisfaction of a closure before we have to move on'.
Winter is right. I have to tell him. But not this way. He didn't want me before he found out about me having a past. Means that he has his reasons too. Just because he thinks that he deserves to know about me doesn't make me less worthy.
"On one condition" I break the awkward and long silence with my words.
"And what would that be ?" Cole smirks.
"I tell you about me and.... you tell me about you"
"No !" He roars. And in an instant Josh is in front of me protecting me. This guy will never understand that I am more than capable of protecting myself.
"Get out of my way" Cole states in a deadly tone.
"Look, dude, you might be the angry Alpha, killing machine Cole, but I am not gonna let you walk all over her like that. If you are gonna reject her just do it. Your pasts won't change anything. But only if you truly want to make an effort, have a shot at her, agree to the deal, okay ? That's your best shot. And oh, almost forgot, I will be present there. This includes me more than anything." He says pointedly the last part directed towards me.
What can I say ? He knows me too well. He knew I was thinking of having this conversation without him present. I look away sheepishly.
"Okay" Cole's voice snaps us back to reality.
"What ?" Me and Josh say at the same time.
"Don't make me repeat myself ! You heard me. Now let's move on. But you will go first" he grits through clenched teeth.
"This is not the time or place to have a conversation like this. We will go back to my apartment and talk. Okay ?" I ask to both boys.
"Yeah" Josh shrugs his shoulders. I look over at Cole.
"Alright. But I will drive you" he says with finality. Josh looks at me with a smug smile on his face. I don't dare smile. The minute he hears about me, he will never want to see my face again.
'Stop blaming yourself for that. It wasn't your fault.'
I know.
