Cas' POV
I found myself giggling now, almost thinking about the beautiful sunny day last year when myself, Dean and club Novak took a trip to the local zoo...
I say local... I mean about 4 towns over.
Still it was a memory worth telling for Dean...

It was a Sunday...
"I love how we walked through the gate about 30 minutes ago and Lucifer has already...
Face first in the penguin tank"
Dean laughs to me, pointing to a much younger Lucifer thrashing his legs about after becoming stuck in the penguin tank.
"I kinda do wanna know where the others ar-"
"PUT THE TURTLE DOWN..."
"NO I'M TAKING HIM HOME AND CALLING HIM KEVIN"
"BALTHAZAR YOU CAN'T JUST STEAL A TURTLE"
"CAN TOO"
Dad hadn't noticed but mum had gone mental...
"IF HE CAN HAVE A TURTLE... I WANT A MEERKAT"
"WHY WOULD?-"
"SO SOMEBODY WILL LISTEN TO ME PLAY THE VIOLIN"
"Kill it now..."
Ralph whispers...

"You remember that, right?
It was a good right?...
When Anna got stuck in that tree on the safari park?
When Balthazar did bring the turtle home?
Course you do"
"Hello?"
I half jump out of my seat as a familiar, tall shaggy haired boy creeps up behind me.
"Oh yes, you're Sam aren't you?"
I sigh now panting...
"You're Cas" he announces smiling now heading for Dean's bed.
"How is he?" He lowers himself to his knees so he's at eye level with his brother.
"The same"
I reply faking enthusiasm
"You probably think I'm an awful brother not, not coming to see him... But I only just found out-"
"You don't need to justify yourself, you came asap"
I interrupt loudly.
It was Dean's youngest brother that called an ambulance when he found him.
Sam was out with his Dad for the last two weeks.
"Thank you"
He smiled calmly and his eye's gleamed in the sunlight.
"That's alright" I sit back into my chair.
"You're the Cas aren't you?
You're the one Dean was dating in secret... It didn't hit me until recently that Cas is short for Castiel and the 'girl' he was seeing was also a 'Cas'.
You're the one he was covering up..."
Sam finishes his statement but seemed to need clarity.
"Yes I am" I whisper half in tears...
"You're the one he couldn't live without, but couldn't say he loved" he continued his eyes fixed on me.
"Do you love him?"
He asks again watching my glance shift to Dean...
"Undoubtedly..."
I answer after about a minute.
"If I know my brother... He won't let you down a second time... He'll know how he feels by the end"
Sam assured before standing, "he's in good hands, I need to track down Dad" he continues glare fixed on Dean.
"See you bitch" Sam whispered sadly before disappearing without a reply

Dean POV
Outside the kangaroo enclosure was a board with questions...
"Kangaroo baby is a...?"
Cas asks waiting for my reply groggily.
"Dean it's a Joey..."
Cas laughs at my clueless shrugging and tutting..
"Cas... I have to tell you something" I swallow nervously...
"Yes" he grins looking casual as ever.
"Cas" I repeat his name until our eyes meet and then as we're only a few feet apart... I lean forward until my lips are beside his pink ears...
"Dean what are you?..."
Cas protests
"Cas" I say once more...
"Your brother is in the tiger enclosure, dressed as a steak..."
I whisper in his ear dramatically.
"Shit..." He takes off running in the opposite direction.

Why was it so hard to admit i had a crazy crush on him...
I think, playing the cool, uncaring douche is easier that that.
I hated love... Love gets you nowhere but at a funeral for me.
There was always something about him though that overpowered me in the end.
But I can't say I ever fell that deeply for him...
Can I?
