"Seriously dude, that was some mad violin playing," Jonah, my fellow violin partner in strings ensemble says as I place my bow back into the case. "Some of that stuff you were sight reading was beyond incredible. I've never seen anyone play that well when they've just picked up the music."
I grin at him "Thanks man" I say clapping him on the back. "See you tomorrow."
"Bye!" He calls after me as I pick up my violin and walked down the hall and out of the music centre. He was right though, the piece of music had been extremely difficult, but for some reason I just got it. Maybe it was because I was still on a high from having Bella forgive me.
"JAMES!" A voice called after me. I turned to see Charlotte come running across the courtyard, her red curls bouncing around her shoulders.
"Hi, what are you doing here so late?" I asked her, glancing at my watch. It read 5:37. Okay... So maybe not that late, but still...
"I was finishing the sculpture I was telling you about in History. You know the one that I'm going to cover in flowers?" I racked my brain, oh yeah, I remember her mentioning something about it.
"So have you got the flowers yet?" I asked. She sighed in annoyance.
"James, I'm making them. We talked about this."
"Oh yeah sorry, so have you started making them?"
She giggled. "No, I'll start them tomorrow though, and hopefully have them finished by next Friday."
"Urgh, art takes forever," I groaned drawing out the 'ever', "you should just do music."
She threw me a look. "James, remember what happened the last time I tried to play the recorder?" She said raising her eyebrows at me.
"Oh yeah, never mind stick to art." I said as a painful memory including Charlotte, the recorder, a classroom window and a rubber duck came flooding into my thoughts.
"Anyway do you need me to drop you home?" I asked starting to walk towards the car park.
"Nah, got my own car see?" She said pointing to the beat up, little blue Mazda that she drove.
"Well then, see you tomorrow Char." I said calling her by her old nickname.
"See you tomorrow Jay-Jay." She said calling me by mine.
I watch her hop into the car, start the engine, give me a wave and drive out of the car park.
I make my own way to my car, chuck my violin and bag on the passenger seat and drive out onto the road.
My favourite Mozart CD is playing as I make my way through the traffic. It's calming and peaceful, so I close my eyes for a second when I'm stopped at a traffic light.
A memory of Bella dances on my eyelids. She looks about 7 years old. She's in one of my T-Shirts, that comes down to her mid thigh, her shorts just peeking out the bottom of it. She's giggling and twirling to the song that is blaring from my CD player. I'm sitting on my bed watching her dance and sing to the song, her eyes brighter than ever, her dimples cuter than ever, and her smile bigger than I've ever seen before.
"Come dance with me Jamie." She says grab in my hand and pulling me off the bed . I begin to twirl her around and she spins closer and closer to me, her dark brown eyes full of life, her cheeks flushed with colour, her little pink lips smiling up at me. She crashes into my chest with a final spin and I lean my head down towards hers-
"BEEP! BEEP!" I'm jolted from the memory by the honking of the car behind me. I look up at the traffic light to see its gone green.
"Crap." I mumble to myself as I take off down the road.

"James! Dinners ready!" Mum's voice echoes up the staircase towards me. I put down my pencil and stare in frustration at the measly number of maths questions I've managed to get through. The memory of Bella's been playing on my mind for the last 2 hours. It's really bugging me. I can't remember what happened after. I've tried to remember but the memory's been cutting out on me before I have the chance to know.
Did I kiss her? The question makes my stomach flip in a good way and nerves start tingling up and down by spine. Why does she make me feel this way?
As I make my way down the steps, I hear voices in the dining room. More then two voices. Looks like we have company.
"Mum you didn't tell me we were hav-" I'm cut off as I see who's sitting at our table, next to my chair, opposite my dads. Her dark hair up in an adorable messy bun, a hint of pink flush in her cheeks, a pair of Doctor Who leggings on her long slim legs and an oversized back jumper engulfing her tiny figure. Her brown eyes lock with mine across the room, and I watch as she bites her perfect pink lip, making a strange sensation wash over me and my breathing become laboured.
"Hi James." Bella says.
