Chapter 3

Chapter 3 Carol's POV .______________.

" I will let Carol stay in your house..." My shift! My vampire shift will happen tomorrow night. What am I going to do? I can't let Vane or her mom see me, they will totally freak out!

I got it! What I can do is go to the cave that Vane and I found a year ago, we have that cave to hang out and talk with each other. I haven't visited it in a while but everything would be fine.

" Vanessa, are you exited for your birthday tomorrow?" I asked her closing the door of her room.
"Yes, I am totally exited!" She exclaimed grabbing a stuffed animal from the floor and throwing it to her bed.' You tell me' I thought.
"I will sleep on the guest room today and tomorrow" I announced grabbing my suitcase and heading to the guess room. She would usually argue with me when I say that, but today she didn't. She just nodded.

Today was it. Today was the day that I will shift. After 10 o'clock pm today, my life will not be the same.

"...happy birthday to you" we sang in unison, it was me, Vane's mom ( her name is Monica by the way) Vane's cousins, uncles, aunts and one gorgeous, beautiful, perfect... What the heck am I thinking? Boy called Ray. Vanessa invited him to her party, when she told me I almost melted in that place.

After all of Vane's family left it was 9:05, I still had 55 minutes to get to the cave.

" I'm not feeling well" Vane announced " I'm going to sleep" Great know I have more cleaning help to do.

After I helped Monica (Vane's mom) clean I headed to the guest room. 'I still had 20 minutes to get to the cave' I thought. I took a quick shower, changed into black clothes and sneaked out of the house. I ran until I found our cave. It was close to a pond, the pond was surrounded by different types of flowers, there were blues, pinks, reds, purples...... " ahhhh!" A scream interrupted my thoughts. Who screamed? "Ahhh!" I heard it again this time noticing that it was coming from the cave. I got in and noticed that it was Vanessa the one screaming, she was curled into a ball on the floor crying. I checked my clock 9:59, but then it thicked! 10:00.

Vanessa's POV ._________________.

"I hope you liked your little 16th birthday" my cousin Stephanie told me giving me a present.

" Yes I did, it was a fun birthday" I said. We said good bye to each other and I closed the door of my house. I saw Carol and my mom cleaning and picking up the trash that was left. I was starting to get a headache so I told them that I was going to sleep. My mom nodded and Carol did a for-real!? face. I was heading to the stairs, when my mom and Carol were not looking, I did a U-turn and headed to the back door.

Last night the women from my dream told me to go to the cave that Carol and I found a year ago, so there's where I was heading for my first shift. I walked slowly to the cave, I still had time so, I didn't need to worry when I was going to shift. I checked my watch,it was 9:45 when I got in the cave.

At 9:55 my headache got worst and a wave of pain in my stomach made my curl into a ball. The pain was to much, I felt like I had fire inside of me, my body was burning, my head was hurting and my stomach was no good. I couldn't hold it any more so I screamed. I screamed again when I heard someone get into the cave. Even with all my pain, I manage to turn around and looked who it was. It was Carol! She was looking at me with a confused face then she looked at her clock and turned red. She fell on the floor too and started screaming. I was confused but my pain took all my other thoughts away except for the one that Carol was suffering like me.

I heard my bones crack! Then crack again. I closed my eyes and screamed one more time then the pain stopped. I opened my eyes and saw my hands were paws! They were really white, like the moon.
I heard a chuckle on my mind.
'Hi I'm Perla, Pearl in English, I am your wolf. I am inside your head and now I can see, feel, and hear everything you do.' My wolf Perla said

'Wow! I can't believe that I actually shifted'

' well believe it because you did'

'Yep'

I turned around and saw Carol looking at me with wide eyes.
I saw that she also had change, she looked taller, stronger and the most noticeable change was that she had fangs! She was a v-vampire! I shifted back to human, I still had clothes on, that was good.

" You are a wolf?" She asked

" You are a vampire?"

" Yes, I'm a vampire"

" Yes, I'm a wolf"

" I can't believe it"

" me neither"

'Me neither' Perla exclaimed.

" Why didn't you tell me? It would have been easier for me to tell you that I was a vampire"

" Well, I though you were going to think I was going crazy"

" True"

'Hey Vanessa, you know that I'm here right? I wanna go for a run, come on or I will control you' Perla interrupted

' ok Perla don't get mad please, I'm going.'

" Carol I'm going for a run" I told her exiting the cave.

" I will go with you" Carol said running to catch up with me. She ran fast.

" Ready" I said shifting.

"Set" she said.

"Go" I barked.

We started running.

We've been running for over an hour. I felt really free, I felt like this freedom will never end. I was wrong. While we were running we spotted a road, we are walking right know, in our human form, at the edge of the road.

"So what know?" Carol asked "You know since we know each other secrets"

"I'm not sure" I answered truthfully "the only thing I know is that we need to keep this secret to ourselfs, nobody needs to know that I'm a White Wolf, they are special and people want white wolfs to have extra power. I have the power of shield , I can make a shield of protection, so people can't get close to me only if I want to."

"That's awesome, I'm Denae, the vampire queen. People will always try to kill me since I also have a power. I still don't know what my power is but, I will know pretty soon."

We kept talking for another 30 minutes when out of nowhere five vampires got out and surrounded us.

"Well, well, well what do we have here?"The tall, fat, ugly vampire asked.

"Get lost" Carol snapped "If you don't want trouble get away"

" What are you gonna do human?" The blonde one smirked " You can't do anything, even if you try to get close to us, we can bite you and you will die"

Carol looked at me, I was trying to use my power and shield our scent. If they smelled us, they will know that I'm a wolf and that she is a vampire, that will get us in even bigger problems.

"Besides" the blonde continued " We only need one of you, you girls will choose. You girls can even fight with each other, the loser will leave with us and become a slave"

"Me." I took a step forward "take me, leave her alone"

"No!" Carol ran to me, before she reached me, two out of the five vampires grabbed me by my forearms.

" Don't touch her" Carol screamed running towards me.

"Carol it's not worth it, just go, save yourself. I don't want you to get hurt, they only want me" I said in tears.

" I won't leave you, you are my best friend!"

" If you don't do it, then I will" I warned her. I felt that my eyes change color for a millisecond.

"No don't do it, I will find you and save you"

' I hope' Perla added.

Before I could say anything else, the vampires threw me to the van. They injected something in my leg. I could fell the clear liquid spreading inside of me, all that it came with it was pain. My eyes started felling more and more tired, until I couldn't keep them open any more. I welcomed the darkness with open arms.
