“Hello?”
“Hey, Bree.”
I froze for one second, the moment his velvet smooth voice ran through my ears. “Cody,” I let out a breath, trying to regain composure, and keep my breathing steady. “Um, what’s up?”
My, gosh. I… Oh, gosh. This call took me so much by surprise that I don’t even know how to respond to it.
“I’m holding a little party for the start of my tour soon, and was wondering whether you’d like to be here,” he cleared his throat, “you can bring Ell—”
“No!” I quickly interjected, making sure he needn’t have to complete his statement. “I’ll be there alone. When, where and time?”
“My house, two days, seven.”
“Great, then. I’ll see you soon,” I swiftly noted it down on my mental notepad. Hanging up, I threw my phone down on the bed before rushing to my closet.
I have no more motives in life because I’m “dating” a jerk so I may as well take this opportunity to free myself away from him, and visit my ex and his family. And our friends.
Not to mention his tour starts in a week, at Jacksonville and exactly the place Elliott had to be for the shooting of his next movie, where I’ll clearly have to follow. I really don’t want to, I’m honest.
Fun, fun, fricking fun.
Not.
"Hey, babe! I'm sorry about yesterday. I was being a jerk, I'm sorry—mood swings. Anyways, today I'm supposed to take you out to some pizza place somewhere in town for dinner? Text me if you can go, alright? I'll pick you up at seven."
Elliott had called me earlier this afternoon and I decided not to answer and let my voicemail get it. He didn't even sound one bit sincere! In fact, he sounded as if he was forced to call me up to ask me out. The hell? Coincidentally, tonight’s the night I’m attending Cody’s party, so…
And yes, Elliott may drive up to my house and wait for me to come out—after, I don’t know, aha, three hours? Hell, if Alli actually insists for me to sleepover, I might just do that without hesitation at all. So that would make it half a day if he even cared to do so.
Bitch doesn't know who he's dealing with.
I guess I'll just reply him really, really late considering he said sorry really, really late. See what I did there? Well, I don't know either what I'm supposed to see what I did. Ha, I'm so funny.
Taking a deep breath, I averted my gaze onto the wall clock that showed it was four thirty, so I gave myself an order to start preparing. Since I’d already showered an hour ago, I stood before my dressing table and pulled my mid-waist long hair to one side of my shoulder.
Thankfully I’d gotten them layered a couple of months ago, I think it’d look nice if I curled the outer layer that were short and left the longer ones at the back pin straight before pulling it up into a ponytail so that it fell down until the wing of my back.
So, pulling out the instyler, I quickly began doing what I was supposed to, making it be as perfect as possible.
It took me about twenty-five minutes to fix it before tying it up, making sure it stayed in place, but since I’m leaving extra early to reach there before six, I still had quite a lot of time on my hands.
