[Well, I'm gradually getting better with the writing, at least. It doesn't trigger me as much, still though, I'm taking it slow. Thank you guys for the support and being patient, I read all of your comments even though I don't reply to most of them. Anyways, onwards with the story~! Enjoy!]

Scott sat on the ground near the cliff's edge again, although this time he wasn't alone. He smiled, looking down at the violet haired naga that was curled up in his lap. It was just like old times, except that the Vince was the larger one instead of the scared, small hatchling that he was all those years ago.

He ran a hand through Vince's hair, the naga had been asleep for an hour or so. Scott sighed and closed his eyes, leaning his head back against a tree. He thought about all the times that he sat up in the middle of the night, just thinking about how he'd abandoned the poor creature like that. Sure, he did get bitten, but he had left the poor hatchling....

Scott quietly shifted, pushing Vincent out of his lap. He sighed in relief when he didn't wake the sleeping beast. He quietly grabbed his bag, sneaking out of the clearing while trying his best not to wake Vincent.

He walked down the path,  then he began to pick up speed as he got further away from where Vincent was. Soon, he broke out into a sprint, he wanted to get as far away as possible. All he could hear was the sound of his own heartbeat and the ringing in his ears.

It didn't take him long to get to town at the pace that he was going. He smiled, emerging from the path and stepping onto the cobblestone streets. He looked around, maybe he'd find a tavern to spend the night, the sun was already going down.

He walked down the street, the lowering sun casting shadows on the stone road. He sighed, stopping at the town's tavern. He opened the door and walked inside, going to the counter and ordering tonight's special. He looked down and groaned, there were golden feather's from Vincent that were stuck in his clothing.

Guilt swept over him, he'd left the naga...again. He had already left the poor guy when he was little, and now he'd just abandoned him after seeing him for the first time in 10 years. He picked a few of the feathers out, looking up when the bartender brought the drink. He weakly smiled, putting a few coins on the counter, then taking the mug and sipping it. He absentmindedly scratched the scar on his neck.

"That's the guy who was bitten, isn't it? The beast tamer?" A gruff voice came from one of the tables. Scott groaned, turning towards the voice and nodding. "Yeah, that's me." Scott answered bitterly, turning back to his drink.

"T'was a miracle you did back then." The man spoke up again. Scott chuckled under his breath, this was probably the hundredth time that he had gone through this conversation. "Maybe it was. But he wasn't a beast...just a kid, like me."

Just like me.  Scott thought to himself, more guilt arising. He downed the rest of the drink, looking down at the oaken counter.

"You know, a beast like that could bring good pay. He could be worth a treasure trove of riches, it's virtually impossible to find a naga these days. Especially a live one. Anything you could ever want...it could be yours."

Scott looked down. He couldn't believe that he was even considering the offer. He sat in silence for a moment, before looking up. He smiled slightly. "Anything...?"

Walking down the path, Scott felt a twinge of guilt. They wouldn't hurt him that badly...right? He sighed, the large bag of gemstones slung over his shoulder. He'd go home, and never have to work again. The gems in the bag were worth almost as much as half of the king's riches. He'd be set for life.

Still though, his thoughts ran back to that night, all those years ago. The sympathy that he had felt for the beast- no, child, just like himself. The poor thing, its family killed and then locked up in a cage. It was so scared, Scott couldn't forget the fear in the creature's eyes.  He'd done all he could've done at the time.

Now, he was abandoning Vince again. He was putting him through the same pain all over again. Scott shook off the thought, continuing to walk down the path. He groaned, the weather turned, and it began to rain. The dirt soon turned to mud, making the trek home all the more tiring.

Scott sighed, looking up at the dark sky. It began to grow cold. He shivered, pulling his hood up. Maybe it would be a good idea to find somewhere to stop for the night. He decided that this was what he'd do, so he took out the map again. He smiled, realizing he was near a cave. That would serve as a good shelter for tonight.

As he neared the mouth of the large cave, he stopped dead in his tracks. There was a dark, almost tar-like substance covering the ground outside of the cave. He bent down, a closer look revealed exactly what he'd feared.

Blood.

Scott gulped, his stomach turning. He tried his best to avoid the substance as he entered the cave. He quietly walked in, he could've sworn he heard something.

"When July became December,

Their affection fought the cold."

He could clearly hear it now. The voice was shaky, almost painful sounding. Scott walked deeper into the cave, listening to the voice.

"But they couldn't quite remember,

What inspired them to go."

The brunette saw something laying on the floor of the cave. Before he neared it any closer, he opened his pack and took out a lantern, using a match to light it.

His heart dropped at what he saw.

On the cold stone floor, lay the naga. A large sword and three arrows protruded from his back, he was in a pool of blood. He was lying flat-out, on his stomach so that he didn't push the weapons further into his flesh. His eyes were open, yet half-lidded, he stared at a small object. It was the teddy bear that Scott had given to him years ago.

Scott didn't know what to do. He wanted to help, yet he was afraid that he'd get bitten. He backed up a few steps.

"And it was beautifully depressing, Like a street car named Desire.

They were fighting for their love that had started growing tired."

Vincent closed his eyes. He let out a shaky breath. Scott feared it may be his last. He dropped the bag of gemstones to the floor, running over to the naga. He sat down and pulled vince into his lap, careful not to hurt him worse. Vince didn't open his eyes.

"O-oh god.." It was worse than Scott had originally thought. He gulped again, reaching for the handle of the sword. He had to make this quick and as painless as possible. He closed his eyes, yanking as hard as he could on the sword. Vince gave a choked cry in response as it was torn from his back.

At least he's alive enough to make a sound. Scott thought to himself, trying to stay focused on the positives. He set Vince down gently, reaching for his pack. He found some sort of bandages, and a pain remedy. He opened the glass bottle, pouring a bit of the lotion-like remedy over the wound. Vincent relaxed a little.

Scott set the bottle down, taking another deep breath and grabbing one of the arrows. With a rough pull, he yanked it out. Vince yelped slightly. Scott petted his hair gently, trying to calm him down. He grabbed another, yanking it out as well. He did the same with the last arrow.

He grabbed the bottle of pain remedy again, using the rest on the wounds. He wrapped the wounds in bandages, then he picked the naga up carefully. He moved him into a place that wasn't blood soaked, setting him down so that he wouldn't lay on his injuries. Vince looked over at him weakly.

"I k-know that...t-this was your d-doing, still..I f-forgive you."

Scott stared silently, in slight shock. He didn't expect Vincent to ever forgive him. He smiled a little, grabbing the teddy bear and a blanket out of his pack. He set the bear next to Vince, then he covered him with a blanket.

"I'm so sorry...I'll make sure you get better. I promise."

Vincent smiled. "Goodnight, love..." Vince said before drifting off to sleep.

[I'm so sorry, this was really rushed, I finally felt better and wanted to get it done before I fell back into the state I was in before. I hope you enjoyed anyways, I'ma take a little break from this story due to lack of inspiration. Anyways, Sev out!]
