Iahn was crouching on the floor with a handful of tools he had stolen from the labs. He sort of knew what he was doing. He had learned what the purpose of all these tools back at the Academy. Using a laser, Iahn was able to open a panel in the wall of his quarters. After removing the panel, he placed it off to the side, inside was a large network of wires and cables. This was the mainframe of HAN software, which in a sense his brain. He grabbed the rest of the tools, and crawled into the space.
Blue lights surrounded the space, coming from the large computer screen. As he walked in, the screen flickered so HAN's eye was the only thing on screen. Even though Iahn knew that this was a machine. He could tell that it was at a loss. He was not allowed to be in there, or know how to access this panel. Only trained mechanics knew how the AI worked and how to treat it.
"What are you doing?" HAN questioned.
"I may be a bit paranoid, but let's just say I want you all to myself what do you think about that HAN?"
"You are breaking regulation, if you tamper with any of my circuits I can send a report to the Council..."
Iahn pressed a random button near the screen. Then he had to step back as sparks rise and he heard what he could only define as a mechanical scream. Part of him was happy that he had sent the right message, though he hoped he hadn't damaged his machine. He enjoyed it though, the thought that he was gathering the strength of his father made him smile.
"If you send any word to any of your other networks or the Council, I will make sure you suffer. Now I am going to sever your network connection, and then we're going to have a little chat understand?" Iahn explained.
"Yes" HAN told him.
After that, Iahn pulled out a large cable that ran out of the small space and through the wall. For a second everything turned dark, and the computer screen shut off. It's like open heart surgery Iahn thought. He pressed the power save button, and then reached into his pocket and pulled out the vial of Ehlorine crystals. Workers dug deep into the reservoirs beneath the earth. It was the liquidized version of these crystals that powered everything on the planet. He had stolen a sample of the crystals too.
Iahn tapped a button, and switched out the liquid vial with his own. This would power HAN independent of the network of the Agency's generators. The computer turned back on, and so did everything else. Iahn breathed a sigh of relief, as he realized that his plan had succeeded.
He crawled out of the computer space, and once out he stood up. HAN hovered around meeting his eye expectantly. Iahn grabbed his tablet from off his desk and then sat down in his chair. When he turned it on, he switched it to a blank page, and then looked up at the artificial intelligence hovering above him.
"Alright, I need you to find these field agents; Teodosie Korzha, Eyota Evans, and Lucien Auclair." Iahn told him.
"Teodosie Korzha is currently in a mission in the Yellow Sea in 1807 AD."
As HAN spoke Iahn pulled up the records on his tablet, showing the Council records on the Agent. He swiped the screen and it appeared in the air on a hologram. There were also his friend's last reports on his mission; he would look at them later.
"Eyota Evans' last record locates her in the city of Akhenaten in 1358 BC"
"Lucien Auclair was last seen in 1609 AD"
Iahn stood up, and walked out of his quarters. He had a plan now; he could say he knew exactly what to do. He needed his former companions if he wanted to find his sister, though he had no temptor to follow them. But he did have a duo of Agents at his beck and call; if he lied and said he was looking for recruits they could lead him to his friends. He wasn't allowed to see his former team either. Unless his suspension ended, though he doubted it would be any time soon.
