Iahn woke up in a medical pod as soon as he realized this, his heart almost stopped. He hated these things. He felt the green lasers digging into his skin, and he winced in pain. Before they could fix the skin cells and everything else, they had to destroy the remaining tissue first. It was like he was feeling the full heatwave of the fire bombs he had set off. Part of him wondered if he had come out of the Guild looking like a grotesque monster out of fiction. He wouldn't seem surprised; he dealt with a lot of stuff lately.

After the green lasers finished their work, some blue ones appeared and cooled the burns on his skin and repaired it. He still ached everywhere though, despite what the machine had done. A few minutes later, it opened and Iahn stepped out of the device. Well more like two Neuroagents had to help him get out of it. For a minute all he saw was the bright flashing lights of the medical ward, and then his eyes adjusted. He didn't recognize the two Neuroagents that had helped him.

"Where is my team?" Iahn asked.

"Most of them are all patched up though Eyota and Teodosie received a bit more severe burns. Good thinking with the force field by the way, without it you would be looking like a cooked goose" the Neuroagent explained.

Iahn didn't hear the rest of his words. All he knew was that his friends had injuries. He pushed his way through the medical ward, and found Teo and Eyota lying on beds across the hall. At first he couldn't see anything wrong with Teo, but he was still concerned about him. Eyota was still on the pain medications that Neuroagents had given her. Half her face disappeared in bandages burnt so bad he wasn't sure if the epidermal pod would have the strength to fix it. Eyota wasn't rich either; it wasn't like she could fix herself with cyber enhancements.

"Hey there Fireball" he heard Teo croaked.

"Thank God your alive, I'm so sorry I didn't mean for this to happen...."

"I know you didn't. It was my fault anyway, the wiring got messed up I tried to fix it just before you pressed the detonator. The Neuroagents told me I lost two fingers, I was lucky I didn't lose them all. And Eyota, she's always been stronger but I don't know how she'll handle this when she wakes up. It was my fault, I could have gotten us all killed."

"Don't talk like that, if it wasn't for your gypsy ass I would be some lonely kid sitting in the corner..."

Teo shoved him a bit with his good hand, but it didn't do much since he must drugs in his system too.

"What did I say about calling me gypsy huh?" Teo glared at him but still almost playful.

"Get some rest, Tessa is in Washington DC, I want the team there by the 15th her time." Iahn told him

"The Beagle will need some alterations if we're going that far with all those people. I need to realign the engines get the temporal gauge back on track."

"I can do all that if you need me to" Iahn told him.

Teo laughed in his face then but it turned into a cough. Iahn waved, and walked out of the medical ward. He couldn't get his mind to wrap around everything that was happening. His friends were almost dropping like flies and Tessa was gone. He was so close to finding her though, he couldn't look back now. He knew where she was, all he needed was to get his team back in shape then he could go.

But considering what happened to Teo and Eyota, getting his team back in shape would be more difficult than he thought. He walked through the halls of the Agency hoping to find one of the rest of his team. He checked the library, and couldn't find Lucien anywhere. Making his way from there over to the labs, he passed the main entrance. The ceiling had vaulted designs and had high windows, so it was much brighter than anywhere else. The walls, like the rest of its designs, were a mix of blue and silver. Hundreds of agents were streaming in and out of the area, like it was the center of a beehive.
