"I will always be here, I will always protect you. Do you hear me?" His comforting words ghosted over my skin and left goosebumps. What he made me feel scared me more than anything in the world, but I also knew I needed him. I needed him like I needed air to breathe, at that point though I'm still not sure he knew the impact he had on my life.
I buried my face into his neck and took a deep breath.
"Did you hear me, Sunny?" he repeated his words more firmly and I realized I didn't give him an answer, so I nodded with my head still buried in his neck and he gave a sigh of relief. His body relaxed and he started stroking my back, while placing a light kiss to my hair.
