chapter 17

Surfs POV

sky was leading me and Mist through the city and towards a shining yellow building. I guess that was the sky army base I had heard so much about. I looked at our surroundings and saw that the streets where lined with shops, restaurants and even a blacksmiths. It overall looked like a nice place but there was one thing that made this place dull. Everyone was glaring at me and Mist and she realized it to. I saw Mist fold her ears down and she tilted her head down slightly "I guess I should have expected that" I heard Mist whisper to her self. Knowing she didn't like to show her orange eye in public unless it was needed I covered it up for her. She looked at me and gave me a little kind smile "thanks surf" she whispered to me, I returned the smile "no problem" I replied.

We finally entered the gates of the sky army base and I saw two people run up to Mist. Luckily I was taught about them back at the squid army base. The one with the sunglasses and suit was bodil and the one with long brown hair and brown eyes was Gaybe. "Mist!" They both yelled and hugged Mist and knocked me off of her shoulder and she eminently noticed and she placed me back on her shoulder. When the pair saw me they took a few steps back, drew their swords and pointed them at me. When Mist realized what they where about to do she growled, showed her sharp teeth and hunched over slightly "hurt her and I will end you both" when she growled it it took everyone back even me. I could see that the pair where both scared and I know that Mist ment it and they knew that she could easily do what she just said. "Mist calm down they probably didn't know that i am now on there side" I said trying my best to calm her down, I looked over to see the pair nodding. When Mist saw that they where no longer a threat to me her eyes softened and she calmed down.

"Sorry about that guys" Mist apologized to her friends "it's fine" bodil replied "by the way guys this is surf" she explained to her friends and waved at them and they waved back "it's nice to meet you surf" bodil said but Gaybe still didn't look sure about me. After I got acquainted with everyone most of the group left leaving me, Mist, Bodil and Gaybe.

"Well look who it is it's the troll, the ugly beast, the mutt and her pet squid" a guy dressed in full golden armour and he had short brown hair and brown eyes said to us. "Stewart I wouldn't do that if I where you" I heard Gaybe warn steward "do you think I'm scared of some flee ridden mutt" he joked. I was lifted off of Mist's shoulder and was passed to bodil by Mist. I saw Mist approach the boy while growing and bearing her teeth 'Mist please don't do what I think you are about to do.

Mist's POV

I gave surf to bodil so she wouldn't get hurt and walked over to Stewart "you got me last time but this time your going to pay" I growled at him "nothing but empty threats" he replied. That's it I have had enough. I went into my wolf form and bit him in the ankle making him fall on his back. "They aren't so empty now are they" I spat at Stuart and some how I smiled. I was so angry right now that I was just acting off my instincts and they where saying to kill him. I moved down his chestplate with my paw so I had a clear shot at his neck but before I could finish him off I was dragged back by my collar by bodil. "Mist you need to calm down ok" bodil said to me and bring me to my scenes and I realized what I had done. I quickly ran, found the hole that I was using for the week, went through it and ran to the nearest cliff.

I went into my human form and sat on the cliff with my legs dangling over the side. I folded my ears down and I had one main thought. What have I become. My leg was still pretty painful and I haven't treated it yet "I should probably do something about that later" I said to myself. I looked into the horizon and saw that the sun was setting and I decided to find somewhere to sleep since I probably wasn't going to be welcomed back with open arms. I got up, limped over to a near by tree, climbed onto a strong branch and feel asleep.

Bodil's POV

After Mist had ran away I saw that it was starting to get late. I turned towards Gaybe "Gaybe get Stewart to seto and take surf with you I'm going to find Mist" I said and gave her surf. She nodded in reply and we went our separate ways.

I walked into the forest and followed Mist's paw prints to the edge of a cliff. No she didn't. I ran over to the edge and looked down to see some jagged rocks and some blood but I couldn't see if it was fresh or not. I felt hot tears running down my face because I was thinking that my friend took her own life.

I turned around to head back but there where four armed squids in my way and they where walking closer to me making me step back and nearly fall off the cliff. I looked around to see if that a where any escape routs but a the only one was cut off. One of the squids gave me a strong push off the edge and quickly grabbed the ledge "help!" I yelled and closed my eyes.

Mist's POV

I awoke to someone yelling 'help' at first I didn't care but then I realized it was bodil. I jumped down from the branch, went into my wolf form and ran to the source of the yell, ignoring the pain in my leg. When I got to the cliff where the sound was coming from there was no sign of bodil but I saw four squids. I snuck behind them and charged at them making them plummet to there death. I looked over the edge to see bodil hanging on to the edge. I went Into my human form and pulled him up.

When I looked at Bodil's face I saw tears coming out from under his sunglasses. I guess I caused this. I gave him a hug to help comfort him and he hugged back.

Bodil's POV

A couple of minutes later after I yelled for help I heard screams pass me followed by a splat. I was helped up but I didn't know who by because I still had my eyes closed and was crying. I felt arms wrap around me and hug me so I hugged back. I quietly heard this person whisper "I'm so sorry"
