Niecey. . .

I'm so worried about Frankie and the baby. We've been here for hours and the baby ain't here yet. My mind was racing and on top of it all I'm here with this dog next to me. The way he keeps looking at me tells me he's more worried about us then Frankie or the baby. Finally they called for us.

"Frankie is fine and so is the baby. She's being moved to a room now to rest. You will be able to see her and the baby." He walked away and I finally let out a sigh of relief.

"Let's go see her Niecey. " Shawny coudn't contain her happiness.  She ran off to Frankie's room and I was right on her heels. I felt a strong grip around my waist then big arms embrace me. I knew it was him. Tears threathened to spill from my eyes the longer he held my waist. Before I could talk anger took over.

"Let go of me! You think you can  dog me then I will just take you back? I hate you." He looked like he was going to cry and I knew I went too far. But, I couldn't bring myself to apologize. He disgusts me. I walked away to find my friends. Frankie needed me. I walked in and Shawny was standing over the bed. Frankie was holding her baby.

"It's a girl, Niecey." My heart fluttered. "Her name is Amelia Shawniece Jackson."

"Shawniece?"

"Yes. You and Shawny's name put together."

"She has her father's last name huh?"

"Yes. He's still her father no matter what." We talked for hours and I held my little god child/ niece. She was beautiful. Her skin was the color of toffee and her eyes were bright brwn like her father. She had a head full of sandy orange hair just like Frankie. I would call her Liah. Once they fell asleep I was ready to go. Hospitals creeped me out. Shawny wanted to stay. I was walking out of the room to leave when I saw Hakeem asleep in the waiting room. Shit. I had totaly forgot that he brought us to the hospital. I walked over to him and stood over him. He was sleeping so peacefully. All the hurt almost subsided until he opened his eyes.

"Take me home."

"Damn, not even a please?" When he saw I wasn't going to say anything he looked down at the floor. " Fine, where's Shawny?"

"She staying here." I walked out to his truck and stood there until he came out and opened the door. I got in and we rode in silence until we got close to Frankie's apartment. I went through my bag for my key and couldn't find it. It was in Shawny's purse.

"Shawny has my keys. I can't get in Hakeem."

"Man it's damn near daylight outside can't you just stay with me?" I gave him a look that said Hell naah. "Well then you can go stay at the hospital for the night." Damn.

"Fine. I'll stay with you." He drove to his apartment and we got out silently. As soon as we stepped in so many memories flooded in along with lost emotions. I went straight to the spare bedroom and closed the door.

"Goodnight to you too then. Damn." He was such a punk sometimes. I heard his door close then his Tv cut on. Thus was my chance to get a shower in. I found an old tank top of mines along with a pair of panties. Probably what I had left here in the laundry. There were no bras or shorts though. I opened the door and snuck quietly to the laundry room. I found a pair of Hakeem's basketball shorts in a basket on the dryer. I got a towel then went to shower. I oiled up before coming out of the bathroom only to run into Hakeem. He looked me up and down with a smirk on his face. "I was just getting some water."

"Whoe cares," I tried to have as much attitude as possible even though I wanted to smile,"Bye." I walked down the hall back to the spare room but something told me he was watching my butt while I walked away. I turned to look and his eyes were glued to my ass. I sped up and closed the door.

"Goodnight Deniece." Slick bastard. But, he did look good.
