"You know what we need?" Beca exclaimed over the hoover, a week after the whole relationship business. Chloe didn't hear what came next, as the vacuum cleaner blared in her hands.
"What?" she shouted.
She watched Beca's lips this time but she still couldn't hear any of it.
Chloe groaned, before turning off the hoover and looking at Beca expectantly.
"I said, we should go on a shopping trip. We haven't done that in ages," Beca said.
Chloe thought about the many times they had gone on shopping trips with the Bellas.

"I gotta stay fat somehow, acca-bitches. All that cardio is making me lose weight so fast and I can't be thin when half my name's 'Fat'," Fat Amy said after finishing her fifth ice cream.
Everyone laughed and Lilly prounced up to Amy and whispered something in her ear.
"Sorry, love. I didn't catch that," Amy said, cupping her ear. She turned to the others. "Damn, she's even quieter when she whispers."
Lilly sighed in irritation. "I said, have you seen that fountain before?" she muttered in a voice that was only just audible.
Everyone turned to see an extravagant fountain sitting in the middle of the mall.
"When did they put that in?" Beca asked. No one had seen any construction before.
"I don't know. I haven't been here for at least a month," Emily commented.
They had a confused discussion for a minute, but their attention to the mysterious fountain soon died off when Chloe realised they were standing right next to Topshop. The Bellas all filed into the store, ready to search for any good bargains or items they could possibly stretch to buying. They didn't notice, however, that Fat Amy held back, occasionally glancing at the fountain.
Chloe and Stacie bought matching t-shirts that they both liked, and they high-fived as they left the shop. The others were all satisfied with their own purchases as they followed.
"Where's Fat Amy?" Cynthia Rose asked.
"Maybe she was kidnapped," Flo said, eyes wide.
Everyone glanced at each other but Chloe's eyes met the fountain first. Standing in the water, dripping and flailing was none other than Fat Amy. There were two mall cops standing around the edges motioning for her to come out, but she wouldn't obey. She kept splashing the water like a little child, screaming "Water fight!"
"Please tell me I'm not seeing this," Beca muttered, face palming.
When Fat Amy spotted the Bellas, she waved to them. "Come on!! Water fight!"
"Oh my God, she's lost it. She's gone crazy," Chloe gasped.
Finally, the two cops entered the fountain and grabbed Amy.
"Is it illegal to have fun?" She yelled.
"In this case, yes. I'm arresting you for disturbing the peace," one of the cops stated.
"Oh, crap." Was all Amy said. The Bellas made a hasty retreat after that, before Beca bailed her out several hours later. It had turned out that the vodka bottle that went missing the night before was discovered half empty in Fat Amy's bag.

"Hey, do you remember that time Fat Amy got arrested for going wild in the fountain?" Chlo asked, zoning back into the room.
"Oh, yeah. How will I ever forget. I've never felt so mortified. I still don't know what was going through her mind that day," Beca laughed.
"That was some dodgy vodka," Chloe commented.
"Must've been. So what do you say? We've got dresses to buy for Cynthia's wedding, as well."
"Oh, yes. Only six weeks to go, I can't wait!" Chloe said excitedly.

The girls set off to the mall once they had finished cleaning the flat, ready to purchase their clothes for the big event.
"You think the Bellas should have a colour scheme or something? So we don't look random when we perform?" Chloe asked as Beca drove.
"No, not for the wedding. We could change for the performance," Beca opinionated. Chloe nodded. "Okay. Is it weird that I want the wedding to be perfect, and it's not even my wedding?"
"A little bit."
Half an hour later, they were standing in a store, browsing all kinds of dresses. There were many varieties, and it was hard for the girls to choose.
"Is this one too short?" Beca questioned, holding up a navy blue, high-waisted mini dress.
"No. It's pretty," Chloe admired. "You should try it on."
Beca glanced at the dress one more time. "Yeah, I think I will. Okay, we need to find you something now. How about that orange one? It matches your hair," Beca suggested with a smirk.
"Hm... Too orange." She scanned the row. Pulling out a couple of dresses she thought might look nice. "Let's hit the changing rooms."
In the end, Beca bought her navy blue dress and Chloe decided on a strapless, light blue dress after Beca commented saying she looked really cute in it. The girls left the shop with the bags in their hands and headed for Starbucks for their afternoon top-up of coffee.
Chloe linked arms with Beca. "I've missed our bonding, midget," Chloe said, nudging her a little.
"Me too. Just you and me, weirdo," Beca smiled.
"And you love it," Chloe winked.
Beca's cheeks went a faint shade of pink and she laughed. "Oh, you're never going to leave me alone about that, are you?"
"Don't worry, I'll remind you of your undying love for me every once in a while."
"You bitch. Coffee's on me by the way," Beca laughed as they ordered their drinks.
When Chloe received her latte, she turned and almost bumped into someone, but dodged out of the way quickly.
"Woah, there. Good thing you reacted quickly this time," none other than Dylan said, steadying her.
"No way. This only ever happens with you. I'm not clumsy, I swear," Chloe laughed.
"You gonna introduce me?" Beca wondered, standing awkwardly with her coffee as Dylan and Chloe hugged.
"Yeah, of course. Beca, this is Dylan. Dylan, this is Beca," Chloe said.
"It's nice to meet you. Chloe's told me a lot about you," Dylan said as they shook hands.
"I could definitely say the same," Beca replied, raising an eyebrow at Chloe.
"Ha, well I guess I'll see you guys around," Dylan said, squeezing a hand on Chloe's shoulder and giving her a warm grin. The grin he always gave her that made her head spin a little.
They bade him goodbye, before exiting the coffee shop.
"Holy crap, he's hot," Beca blurted out when they were far enough away.
"I admit, I have made that observation," Chloe stated.
"How do you not just... Just touch his abs?"
"I haven't seen his abs-"
"Oh, come on Chlo. They stand out right through his t-shirt."
"It's because we're friends. So, maybe I know that, behind that perfectly-chiseled face of his, there's a guy with a great sense of humour and a real good personality-"
"My God. You fancy him. And he's so into you, judging by the fact he squeezed your shoulder. I mean, that is a definite sign of affection."
Chloe said nothing to that. How could she? When all she wanted was for that to be true.
