"Shh!" an old man in the town's library put his finger on his lips and gave us a death stare.

It's been five days and today we're at the library because we needed some books for our project so we both agreed to work here today. Nothing major happened in this past few days, we just discussed work and Luke is still a rude douchebag. I'm not expecting him to change, it's the way he is even if I don't quite like it. I just have to stand this a few more days. I have to admit I miss the day I met Luke because he was really nice compared to what he is now.

I looked at Luke. He's focused on his search. I decided to be an annoying prick and interrupt him.

"Give me that pen that's over there, please." I asked politely and he gave it to me without looking away from his laptop. When our hands touched I felt a shock, causing me to let the pen fall to the ground.

"Ah, fuck." He shook his hand, like if the feeling would go away if he did it.

"Did you feel it too?" I asked and bent to pick up the pen from the floor without averting my look to the floor because I was waiting for his answer.

Luke looked at me sideways "The shock? Yes." He rubbed his hand "I hate them."

"I think everyone hates them." I slightly smiled, but he continued serious "But why do you hate it so much?"

"When I was a kid I put my fingers in a socket and almost died. But I didn't, as you see." Luke explained without taking his eyes off of his book.

"Unfortunately." I joked and he looked at me with something that looks like hurt in his blue eyes, and I repented what I said immediately. He's not my friend to joke about this, I mean, the subject is just not something to joke about.

"I'm sorry, I-I didn't meant to say that, I, I m-mean it was very rude from me to say that." I stopped myself to collect myself "You're good, these days, right?"

"You don't really seem to care about my health." He snapped and I felt tears prick at my eyes. I'm such a weak bitch, I disappoint myself.

Luke seemed to notice it and after letting out a loud sigh he answered "Yeah, I'm fine these days."

I tried to shot him a small smile and concentrate on working again. We got back to work, until my phone rang in the middle of the afternoon.

"One Direction, really?" Luke raised an eyebrow at my ringtone.

"What's the problem?" I raised an eyebrow back, taking him back with my sudden confidence defending my taste in music.

"Nothing, nothing." He shook his head.

"Just because you listen to Nirvana, Green Day, Blink-182, Good Charlotte and bands like that it doesn't mean I can't listen to other musical genres." I do like those bands too, but One Direction is my favorite band and the band whom I dedicate my whole life to.

"I didn't say otherwise." He raised his hands, surrendering.

I drew my attention from Luke to my phone, seeing "Momma Bear" written on the screen of my Samsung S5050 from 2009. I clicked the green button and pressed the phone to my ear.

"Hey mom." I greeted her.

"Hi honey, I'm just calling to give you some news." I could hear her smile from the other side of the line, what made me extremely curious. I sat in silence, waiting for her to tell me the news "Cathy are you still there?"

"Yeah, I'm waiting for you to talk." I examined my nails, cringing at the nail polish that needed to be cleaned off of my irregularly shaped nails.
