I wrote these when I just turned thirteen. I mostly wrote them just for fun, or practice, more like. I just decided to post them here, so I hope, whoever is reading this, you enjoy it!

I awaken from a troubled sleep. All I see is a thick, black darkness. I try to get up, but I fall. I land on my knees and I hit something hard and gritty. Ouch. I wonder where I am. I can't remember anything. I don't know where I am, who I am, or how I got here. All's I remember is falling, and yelling, and...a fearstruck face. That is all.

My knees hurt. I feel blood running down them, hot and sticky. I try my best to wipe it away with my hands. It dries. But I when I start to stand, they reopen. Despite the throbbing pain, I walk. I am careful not to trip on the sharp rocks crumbling beneath my feet. I'm glad I have sturdy shoes.

My hands curled around the smooth silver I found deep inside the box, with had nothing otherwise but a large peice of velvet red cloth, which seemed to be shoved in there for protection.

I held the small silver before my eyes, examining it. It seemed to be shaped into a lopsided heart. A heart? Why a heart? As far as my knowledge went, it was never a necklace, for it did not have a loop for a chain, nor a gash to show one had once been there. No flaws or scratches, as far as I could see. There had to be something more to this than Esther was telling me.

I stare in awe at the countless stars in the overhanging sky, amazed.

How God's love spans further than this, further than their beauty glows

I think about heaven. I try to imagine it, try to form one of my crooked images I always try to form it my head. But I can't. Heaven feels like a distant dream, a place I've never known, yet I still long for....

It's strange, is it not?
