Sorry it's so short, but really, I'm having a hard time finding inspiration for this story😐 But here's a picture to make up for the long wait!
Reese's POV
Ugh.
That's all I can think at the moment as my mind swirls and muddles and spins around. I am being pulled to my knees and draped over someone's shoulders. They must be running, since I flop around, almost falling off their shoulders. I start to gain my strength and mental awareness.
"Who are you?" I ask.
"Reese, are you okay?" He says, in a voice I know as Nathan's. He stops and sets me gently on my feet, still supporting me. His eyes meet mine as he lets me go. Something strikes me as odd, his touching me.
"How did you do that? Touch me, I mean." I question.
"I have no idea," His eyes widen, excited. "Are you weak or anything? What does this mean?" He starts pacing.
"I don't know. We need to figure this out, just calm down please." I say, laughing.
"You know where we go when we need to figure things out?" He looks at me sideways.
"The tree," we say in unison.
-------------------------------------------------------
The cold bark of the tree warms quickly underneath the sizzling electricity of my palms."Ready?" I look at Nathan. He nods back at me with a puzzled look on his face. "Okay here we go," I mumble to myself. I take a deep breath and focus intensely, sending my inner lightning out as far as it will go. My eyes close, but I can tell that this time is different by the shocked inhale from Nathan. I pull my hands away from the bark and look up just in time to see the aftershock of the electricity shoot in waves across the sky. Astounded, I look to Nathan for and explanation.
"Reese," he says with an incredulous look. "You just lit up the night."
