Sophie's POV

Hi I'm sophie. I'm 5'6'', I have curly blonde hair, hazel eyes, and Two-bit's my older brother. I'm dating Ponyboy Curtis. He just got back from the church. Right now we're at the lot together.

"I missed you so so much." I said squeezing his hand.
"I miss you too." Cherry Valance pulled up in her mustang.
"I'll be back." He said eagerly. He ran to her. They were talking about something but I couldn't tell what. I watched them with tears in my eyes. All he's done since he's been back is talk to cherry and talk about cherry. I run home crying.

"What's wrong?" Two-bit asked me.
"Pony. He's with Cherry. He doesn't want me." I said between sobs.
"What? Where is he?"
"He was at the lot with her." I said.
"I'll be back."
"Don't hurt him." He slammed the door. I sighed and sat on the couch. I turned on a Paul Newman movie and ate ice cream.

An hour later Two-bit came in with Pony behind him.
"Sophie please let me explain." Pony stood in front of me.
"What is there to explain?"
"I was talking to Cherry for a reason."
"Yeah because you have the hots for her."
"No it's not like that at all." Tears formed in his eyes.
"Then what is it like?"
"Cherry's a girl so she knows what girls like."
"I'm a girl too and I know what girls like!"
"Yeah but I couldn't talk to you about this..."
"Oh but you could talk to her and not your own girlfriend!"
"Pony just tell her before she beats you up. She's giving me a headache with all her crying and screaming." Two-bit said.
"Tell me what?" I asked. He pulled a little black box out of his pocket.
"I bought you a promise ring. Cherry helped me pick it out and kept it at her place so you wouldn't find it."
"Oh Pony. I'm so sorry."
"It's ok. Will you promise to be with me forever?"
"Yes." I started to cry again but for a different reason. He smiled and slipped the ring on my finger.

-day of the rumble-
"Pony please don't go." I begged.
"Sophie I'll be fine."
"Fine. But I'm against this."
"I know babe. I love you." He kissed my cheek.
"I love you too." They left. I could hear them screaming and cheering.

They gang came back all beaten up.
"We won!" Steve cheered.
"Steve you're missing a tooth." I said.
"It was so worth it." I rolled my eyes.
"Where's Pony?"
"He left with Dally to see Johnny." Darry explained. I nodded and went to go get the first aid kit.

Pony walked in.
"Pony you look awful" I walked up to him and he didn't say anything.
"What's wrong?" Darry asked.
"Johnny's dead. Dally. He couldn't take it. He ran out. He's gonna get himself killed." We all stared at him in shock. About that time the phone rang. Steve answered and handed to to Darry.
"Who was it?" I asked.
"Dally." Steve said.

"We gotta go hide Dally. He's in trouble." Darry said. We ran to the park. When we got there sirens were blaring. Dally was surrounded. Dally went to pull out his gun.
"Don't do it Dally!! It's not worth it!"I yelled. He did it anyway. He pulled out his unloaded gun.
"Don't shoot!! He's just a kid!!" Two-bit yelled. But they did. They shot and killed Dally. They filled his body with bullets.
"Pony " He said and reached for him. We stood in front of his body. Pony fainted.

-after the funerals-
We buried them beside each other. That's what they would want. I rubbed Pony's back.
"I can't believe they're gone." I sighed.
"I know. I can't either."
"It's and tell me fault." He choked on a sob.
"No baby its not."
"Yes it is. If I wouldn't of been a brat and ran out that night all this wouldn't of happened."
"Don't think like that."
"It's so glad I have you. If it wasn't for you I'd be dead to. I can't ever lose you."
"You won't."
"I love you Sophie."
"I love you too." He kissed me
