"Happy birthday sweetheart!" Snow said waking Emma up. Snow went to the curtains and pulled them open letting sunlight in. "It's the night of your ball, the year you become queen, and the year you get married."
Emma groaned and put the pillow over he face. "Don't remind me" she said her voice muffled from the pillow.
"My little girl is growing up. Charming get in here!" And just like that Charming came in. "Our little girl is growing up so fast...can you please get her up? We need her to get ready for tonight"
"That's in 13 hours" she said muffled and annoyed.
"There is still a lot to do. Come on Emma you need to get up" Snow left the room but Charming stayed.
"Is she gone?" Emma asked.
"Yeah it's safe" Charming replied.
Emma threw the pillow off her face. She was already in her jeans and shirt. "Can we go then?"
"Out the window" he whispered.
A few minutes later they were out the window and in the stables getting on their horses. They both rode into the forest. Emma was curious. She always sneaked out but never made it farther than Reds house.
"What's so special about going into the forest?" He asked.
"I've never been farther than Reds house. I want to see the river, the Summer Palace, just...everything. If I'm going to be queen" she said queen win disgust. "I want to know what my future kingdom looks like"
"Emma, this is your kingdom already" he said.
"Sadly" she mumbled.
"Heard that" he said and they both laughed. They understood each other. Until Snow and Charming got married he never wanted to be a prince or even a king. Now he loves it.
"I don't want to be queen. I'd rather stay a princess..even though I hate that as well. Nothing about the royal life excited me...dresses, heels, makeup, hair, tiaras, balls, castles, executing pirates..the list goes on"
"Pirates are executed. They have always cause destruction and madness, they are selfish and vengeful. And there's still..him left in this realm" Charming said. The him was the one and only Captain Killian Jones or Hook as everyone called him.
Charming and Killian always had a bad past. Emma still didn't know what happened between them so she searched for years trying to find out what happened. She found nothing!
"Yeah..I guess" she pulled down her sleeve. Every pirate had a P scar on their wrist. Emma had one.
