I awoke with a small groan, my eyes still not open. That was when the memories hit me like a wave and forced myself to open my eyes. I was in a dark building, my hands were tied behind my back. A soft sob escaped my lips when I saw Kira unconscious next to me because reality hit: we are going to die.

I nudged Kira until she slowly open her eyes. Noticing her surrounding, the daze wiped quickly off of her face. Her face was full of fear when she opened her mouth, "It's Barrow. He brought us here."

I was getting ready to respond until an axe sliced through the air, silencing us. Once he was done, he dragged a wire he cut straight toward us. We both wiggle around, helplessly trying to manage to cut ourselves loose.

Sparks flew everywhere as he decided to rub the end across the fence. I winced as got closer, smiling devilishly. "What are you doing?" Kira asks in a small voice as a single tear runs down her face.

"Right now?" He asks as he shrinks to our level, slipping my phone out of my pocket. "Right now, I'm going take your picture." He says as he grabs Kira's phone. "Just a little proof of our time here together. A little proof for those who never believed."

Barrow then takes multiple pictures with the flash on with both phones. How does he even know about that? I think to myself while our killer is busy snapping photos of us. "Our you done being our paparazzi?" I say, trying to act brave but my voice cracks halfway. "I thought you were going to kill us."

"Oh I am." Those words hit me like a ton of bricks. I wasn't ready to die. I didn't want to die. What did we do to deserve this fate?

"Okay, you got your picture. Can you please consider letting us go?" Kira asked with a quivering voice.

"Did you ever see a movie called Village of the Damned? The original, not the remake. Nobody cares about the crappy remakes. I'm talking about the 1960, black-and-white masterpiece. Huh?" Barrow says as he glances from Kira to me. "It's about this group of children. Blonde-haired, beautiful children that can make their eyes glow." He started to stroke Kira's cheek and place a hand underneath my chin. "And they did terrible, terrible things. The tag line on the poster read Beware the stare that will paralyze the will of the world. Now, when I told everyone I saw children with glowing eyes, they wouldn't believe me." He gets back onto his feet, causing both of us to flinch to think about what he has in store for us. "I tried to get them to do something, but they wouldn't budge. They wouldn't move. As if they had been paralyzed. I am going to shake them of their paralysis. I am going to get them moving. I'm gonna," This was when he picks up the sparking wire, "galvanize them."

Barrow then looks away from us, like he knows something is coming toward us. He picks up the wire, disappearing into the shadows. "Scott!" Kira and I both simultaneously trying to warn him. Coming from behind with the wire, Barrow shows his face which is smiling with glee. "Look out!" Kira yells, trying to warn him but it is too late. By the boy turns, Barrow hit him with the wire, sending him back into a fence. He then picks up the second half of the wire and starts walking toward us.

"Please!" I beg as my full attention is the object sparking in his hands.

"Don't" Scott cries out. I take this time to put my arm in Kira's. We have always been with each other. It only seems right to die with each other as well.

Barrow lowers to our level, a grin of victory spread across his face. I close my eyes as the wire slowly comes closer toward us. Suddenly a white light makes it way into the room and at that point, I was pretty sure I was dead. Opening up my eyes, I see Kira and I, still hand and and. We somehow got free of the ropes binding us. That wasn't even the strange part. The electricity was collecting onto my free palm and was somehow being transferred to Kira. Once we were done collecting the electricity, we dropped our hands, causing our strange electric bond to break.
