Chapter 7: leaving

*Hayes's POV*

I hugged Kayla one last time before I walked on the plane and she started crying. "No no no baby please don't cry. Watch me on TV and call me I love you so much." I said kissing her. "Love you too." She said. I walked on the plane and saw her leaving. "Oh my god." I said calling Nash.

Brother✌️👦: what's up man
Me: I can't think straight right now
Bro: why aren't you going on a plane?
Me: I am going it's just Kayla
Bro: she'll be fine don't worry
Me: I know I know it's just I just will miss her
Bro: go to L.A. and dance for her!
Me: ok I will bye

~Skip plane ride~
~One week later~

"Come on Hayes. Back of the knee straight." Emma said. I'm at rehearsal and can't stop thinking about Kayla. "I know I'm sorry." I said. "It's fine do you want to stop and try again?" She asked. "Yea." I said grabbing my phone. I walked into the bathroom and sat on the counter and called Kayla. She didn't pick up and I got nervous. "Pick up pick up pick up." I said walking out.

"Hayes honey calm down." My mom said. I hugged her and started crying. "Hayes it's okay it's okay shes probably working." She said. "Yeah." I let go and walked to get dressed. Okay dance for the hometown and Kayla.

~Their part to dance~

I watched the screen and saw my apartment door. "Oh my god stay focused." I said to myself. I saw Kayla open the door with a messy bun and a sweatshirt and sweatpants with the dog running around behind her. "Can you say anything to Hayes?" "I am so not ready for this but yea sure. Hayes your going to kill it out there no matter what the score is I'm here with duff and Alice supporting you! Good luck love you and see you soon!" "Anything about your memories?" "Haha yea I'm always here to support you since day one like when you tackled in football by a ten times your size dude or the dirt track when you fell off the bike. Come home soon wait actually don't I sorta maybe kinda destroyed your ro- I mean I love you so much and don't cheat or else your stuff is out that window! Good luck TeamSlayes!!" She waved and I got teary eyed.

I started dancing and started to feel tears. At the end when I hugged Emma I started crying. I let go and stood next to the judges. "Your girlfriend is very beautiful." "Thanks." I said wiping my tears. They said their stuff things. I went back up and got my scores. "22/30 not bad." They went to commercial and everyone came up to me. "So Kayla Huh?" Carlos asked. "Yea." I said with more tears. "Aww Hayes." Emma said hugging me.

"Well since Hayes misses his girlfriend she made a YouTube video which is on our website so check it out! But now our next Dancers." After he said that I ran to grab my laptop. I typed her username and watched the video.

"Hey guys it's Kayla and this video is about Hayes. So I know he misses me and he knows I miss him but he's doing what he wants to do and if that's to be away from me across the country and dance with another girl, Emma your beautiful I love you like a sister no words are against you, so I know he's doing fine without me. But before I leave this video I want to show you your room if you is watchin."

She showed my room and there was silly string everywhere.

"Perfectly clean so anyway don't cry over me being far away just remember I'm always watching you do your thing on that dance floor. I love you with all my heart don't mess up and Emma keep him in line I don't want him to be cranky Hayes when I see him. Love you both #TeamSlayes. I walked back and watched till the end. After it I changed and grabbed my bag and phone and saw Kayla called. I called her back while walking out.

She hung up and I got up and watched the other dances. "What does she mean?" I asked myself.

~After the show~

I grabbed my bag and hugged Emma and walked to my moms car. Once I got to the apartment I fell asleep.
