Chapter 16: The Lake

*Hayes's POV*

I looked at Kayla and bit my lip. "Babe lets go." She said grabbing Duffs leash. "I like your haircut." She said looking at me. "Babe lets go." I mimicked. "I'm waiting on you." She said walking towards the door. "Oooooo babe don't leave me like that." I ran up behind her and picked her up. "Let's go." She laughed and we went to her car. "Are you allowed to drive with a boot?" I asked. "No that's why your driving." She gave me her keys and I got in.

She sat in the passenger seat and the dogs in the back. "Let's go!" I said and we drove to the lake. "Hey if I asked you to marry me would you say yes?" I asked. "I can't tell you anything." She said. "Why not?" I frowned. "It will ruin the surprise." "Fine." I said with a pout. "We aren't even at that part yet." She said grabbing my hand. "I know but it will come and I hope you will be my future wife." I said pulling up. "You will see." She said getting out.

She grabbed Duff and I grabbed Zan and we walked around. "So why are you acting like f-boy when the guys are around?" She asked. "What do you mean?" I asked holding her hand. "Like when I'm not home you invite the guys over and I'm fine with that but in your snapchat story you always act like a f-boy with them." She said sitting on a rock. "Babe I'm sorry it's just they act like that so I do." I said sitting next to her. "It's fine I'm not used to it." She got up and I put Zan on my shoulders and she took a picture.

"Let me take a picture of you." I said and she kneeled down with Duff. "Hey I have work tomorrow and my Uncle is coming over so can you just keep him company till I come home?" She asked. "Wait is it the one with the big muscles and did like me?" I asked. "Uh yea why?" She asked. "He still scares me." "Still?" "Babe he is like 10x bigger than me." I said and she took my leash. "Text me or call me if anything happens I will be home by 4." She said and I hugged her from behind. "It's so nice out." She said stopping. "But chilly." I said grabbing Zans leash.

"So babe what do you want to do?" I asked. "Can we go get something to eat?" She asked looking at me. "Yea." I said and we went to the car. "What should we get?" She asked. "Does burgers sound good and then we can get some ice cream and eat it at home?" I asked. "Are you trying to get me fat?" She asked and I started to pull out. "No." I said driving. "Yea that sounds good though." I turned on the radio and we sang the way to In-n-out burger. "I'll go in so do you want the usual?" I asked parking. "Yes please." She said taking my phone. "I need that."

"True." She said and I took it back and got out. I walked in and saw a ton of girls in there so I walked out. "That was fast." She said. "Can you go in and get it?" I asked and she got out without saying anything.

*Kayla's POV*

I went inside and waited behind these teenage girls who were really annoying. I went on my phone and liked some pictures on the gram and looked at my schedule for this week. I went up to the person and the look on his face was priceless. "Your K-Kayla Dallas!" He said almost yelling. "Yes I am." I smiled. "Um what would you like?" He asked stuttering. "Well I need 2 burgers with cheese and fries and one water and one... Hold on one second."

"And one iced tea please." I smiled. "For here or to go?" He asked shaking. "To go." I said and held out a 20. I gave it to him and got my change back. "Here's your recite have a nice day!" He said smiling really big. "Before I go get my food would you like a follow or a picture or something?" I asked. "Both!" He said jumping up and down. "Ok." I took his phone and we took a picture and I followed him on Twitter. I got the food and walked out.

"Thanks babe." "Yea yea." I said buckling my seatbelt. "Now HOME!" I yelled and he drove home while holding my hand. We got to a stoplight and he leaned over and kissed me. "Your car is better than mine." "Duh because I have a pickup truck dumbass." I said and he laughed. "Tomorrow when your Uncle leaves can the guys stay over pleaseeeeee?" He asked. "Fine." I said and we got home. I walked inside and out the food on the table. He grabbed his food and then grabbed my waist and pulled me to the couch.

"FOOTBALL!" He yelled and I got back up. "Where are you going?" He asked. "My room." I said shutting my door. "KAYLA COME ON!" "WATCH YOUR GAME HAYES!" I yelled back going on my laptop. "Kayla come on I'm not that bad with football." He said walking in. "Yea okay." I said laughing. "I'm not." He said taking my food. "Now we are going to eat and watch the game." He picked me up and carried me to the couch.
