Chapter 19: It All Comes Together
Everything was close to the end. By the end of this night, I will be dead. That is insured. Fires blazed around me, the sword of my counterpart was still wedged in my shoulder. The three women were prophets, they told me what I had to do, before the night was up. I had to destroy myself to injure Hades. I now can interpret their words. By destroying myself, I will not only destroy Josh-esque, but because he was grown from Hades’ own energy, it would injure him enough to allow Selene to deliver the final blow.
I searched the battle-field for Selene. I felt the searing pain in my shoulder. I fell back to the ground and ripped it from myself. The black wisps of energy flew out of me. I stood up and healed the wound.
The two shapes that walked from the plane wreckage looked familiar.
“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me!” I screamed. It was two of the most loved people in the world, Harry and Niall from One Direction.
“English and Irish pussy fucks!” I screamed. I hated them as they distracted my assassins, and my friends from their objectives, Talisha worshipped Harry and Imogen, as we all know, has been dating Niall and has done a contract for him before arriving and helping us in this battle.
I finally noticed Selene with her sword, the weapon I required. I knew that I would have to leap over a 1 kilometre wide spawn hole, kill a chimera and help a pinned down Jordan to reach an enraged Selene. Great, like nothing in my life is ever easy?
I felt my heart sink when an un-dead warrior came up behind her and thrust its sword through the centre of her chest. She screamed out. “SELENE!” I cried. I began to run with fire raging in my hands. I was sprinting in Hermes style fast, everything was a blur. I reached the edge of the cliff and jumped. Magma nipped at my feet as it burst into the air, arrows flew by my head as the warriors used their bows, others nipped my feet with swords and daggers. One of which, I grabbed and threw back down, the blade I had just thrown was now infused with my heart fire. It created a crater in the side of the gap, leaving thousands of the creatures to fall back into the fiery depths.
I reached the other side and fell to my knees. The chimera was my next task, the head of the lion, a goats head on its back with a snake for a tail, the forelegs, a lions, and the hind, the goats. The snake would squirt flammable venom at its enemies, and the lion would shoot fire and ignite the venom. The goat has spells of magic and debilitation. It must have noticed me, auras began to form around the goats head.
I readied my bow and charged an arrow. A spear of dark energy shot from its mouth. The chimera dashed towards me and the lion gnashed with its jaws. I shot my arrow at the spear and it burst into a cloud of black smoke that allowed me to hide from the monster. It gnashed through the smoke where I stood originally. It swiped at the smoke looking for me. The snake began to spit venom all over the ground. Once all the sand was soaked with venom, the chimera left the cloud and shot fire into the sand and ignited the venom. The smoke dispersed from the flames and it spotted me. I was standing in the flames.
My skin reddened and blistered from the hot flames. My skin began to heal from the burns and I drew my sword and tossed my bow and arrows aside. I lunged at the snake and the snake snapped at me and spat poison at me. I dodged every stream of venom and parried every fang. I climbed on the back of the chimera and the goat tried to buck me off with the back of its head. I ignored it and instead, put my sword around the snakes head and ripped it off. As I did, the venom sacks emptied itself onto the ground and all over the chimera. I jumped of, dry as the sand I stood in.
“Come and get me!” I shouted at the butt-faced lion. I growled and spat the flammable liquid from its mouth and squinted because of the poison in its eyes.
“You’re fighting blind!” I taunted.
The creature growled and sniggered at my ploy. It rushed, eyes closed, at me. I did not move.
Its jaws gnashed in mid-air as it tried to find me, I did not move.
It looked directly at me, I did not move.
Eventually, it began to run after me. Selene must have looked over, because no matter how long I waited, she screamed at me, “JOSH! MOVE!”
This was the time to move. I leapt into the air to dodge the chimera narrowly. Our backs had mere centimetres between them as it ran forward and I summer-salted. When my arms were in reaching distance of the creatures tail, I had the perfect chance to set the beast on fire. So I took it. I threw fire from my and at the venom soaked tail of the three headed beast. Its body soon ignited afterwards, and its deathly screams rang out.
Now was my chance to get to my girlfriend. Crap, I nearly forgot Jordan.
He was surrounded and barely managing to keep the hordes of undead from his personal space. Jordan loves his personal space. I dropped my bow back at the chimera. Damn crap. I gripped my sword and felt the pain and suffering of all my friends. Imogen getting whipped in the back, Talisha unconscious and lying on the ground against a pyramid, Selene hoping I am ok, and finally Jordan’s fear. Not to mention the suffering of the population of the over world if Hades wins this fight.
My blade flowed with my anger and suffering. I aimed the sword at the group around Jordan and released the energy from the tip and blew half the hoard away as a ball of energy and the elements shot from the tip and met he sand next to the hoard. I ran up and continued to cut and gut the warriors. I blew some away. I covered some in kilometres of sand. Eventually I jumped into the air and sped back down as I plunged my sword into the ground, pillars of earth waved up and down throwing the dead into the air and breaking their backs as they hit the ground.
“Thanks,” Jordan said, his metal swords turning back into regular arms as I threw him one of my guns.
“Go help Talisha, Imogen and those stuck up bastards running away from the field,” I ordered him.
“I don't know what you plan on doing, but don't die ok. Selene needs you, and the Fraternity is nothing without our resident god.” Jordan made a meek smile.
“Please. Even without me, you still have Selene” I say.
“What do you mean?” Jordan stared inquisitively into my eyes.
“There is a reason her name is Selene. There is a reason her moods change with the moon phases…” I was interrupted.
“Isn’t that just called PMS?” Jordan said insensitively.
“Dickhead. No, she is the re-incarnation of the Goddess of the Moon, Selene. Goodbye Jordan. Take care of Selene for me. But if you sleep with her, god forbid!” I say as I leave on my suicide mission.
“Jesus Christ that fucking bastard is going to die! And I can’t even sleep with his girlfriend!” Jordan cried.
Stupid ending! 1 more chapter to go guys!
