Jude and I meet the rest of the campers in our cabin, there are 4 other boys. One is named Ace, Max, Gus and Ted. They all identify as gay besides Ace (he is trans), they all seem like great dudes but I hope none of them try to hit on Jude.

Our first activity is kayaking. All of us are gathered into groups by when we signed we arrived here. We had time to meet all of the others in our group before we started the activity. I walk over to the boat house to get a paddle and a life jacket. I see Jude mingling with some of the girls in our group, I wonder what they are talking about... "Hey babe would you be able to tighten this life jacket?" I say to Jude interrupting one of the girls. He goes behind me and tugs on the strap. Jude falls back into the conversation, I cling to his side.

"Jude you want to share a kayak with me?" I ask him. "Sure that sounds good." We get into the kayak and we start to paddle towards the group. "Campers! Get ready to see some beautiful sights!" Phoenix calls and he starts to paddle down the stream leading the group.
Lunch time rolls around, all the girls are fighting to have Jude at their table. "Jude come sit with us!" Is all I've been hearing. Jude sits at a random table, I sit across from him. There are a few other kids at the round table. "So campers! This is where you will be having a talent show at the end of the week so get practicing! Anyways enjoy your meal!" Phoenix yells from on the stage. "So how are you liking camp so far? It is so nice here!" I exclaim to Jude. "Its great! Everyone is so nice!"

The rest of the day goes by so quickly, we had an art class where we were taught to deal with our feelings and expressions through art. We also played a game with our beach towels and water balloons! Its called beach-towel volleyball, its really fun! Right now it is the campfire, we all huddle around the huge fire sitting on logs. I sit beside Jude, I dont want any other boys to flirt with him. I pull my blanket around Jude to keep him warm. All the counselors are telling spooky stories, this is going to be a fun week (of protecting Jude)
