20: Red Carpet?

Ellie's P.O.V

"I don't wanna talk about it." I pout as Niall gets in the drivers seat and I hop into the passengers seat, leaving Louis to the back. "What? I didn't even ask you to just now." Louis answers, surprised.

"Well... Why does Niall even want to go out for his birthday when it was like a week ago?" I stutter, trying to blame someone else. "What if we do something else?" Niall unexpectedly mumbles. "Why that would be lovely." I fake a posh accent. "What's with the fancy-smanchy?" Louis pinches my cheeks from behind me. "But seriously Niall, what did you have in mind?" I ignore the pain Loui is causing. "Louis. I can't concentrate." Niall speaks my unspoken plead for him to let go. "Fine." He huffs, leaning back in his seat and letting go of my cheeks.

"So anyways... We were planning on surprising you and taking you to a red carpet event later." Niall explains. "And what makes you think I wanna go to that?" I smugly ask. "Come on, Ellie. You and I both know you want to." Niall says with almost no emotion, pulling up to the driveway. He and Louis get out of the car and whisper something to eachother. Then Niall returns to the drivers seat, with Louis walking up to the front door.

"Cover your eyes." Niall says, handing me a bandana from his pocket and keeping his eyes on the road.

"Niall. We've been driving for hours." I pout. "Relax. It's only been one hour." He reassures me. Suddenly, I feel the car pull to a stop. "We're here." He takes the bandana off my eyes. "Woah..." I sigh, looking at the huge mall in front of me. "You need a dress don't you?" He smiles at my state of awe. "No way. I don't want anything you buy me." I say before the words even leave his mouth. "Fine." He shrugs.

Niall's P.O.V

I take Ellie's hand and we start to walk to the entrance.

"Do you love anyone?" I suddenly ask.

"I love you." She answers, looking ahead of her. Wait... She loves me? "And Liam and Harry and Zayn and Louis. Why?" She looks at me.

I'm just hoping she didn't catch me blushing at what she said earlier.

"Oh." I slightly sigh.

"So..." I try to fill the awkward silence. "So..." She ignores my effort.

"Niall!" Ellie shouts from the other side of the rack of dresses. "What?" I walk around to see. "Look at this one." She coos, pointing to a really showy dress. The dress was transparent and had sparkles covering what should be covered.

"Liam wouldn't let you wear that." I remind her. Not that I wouldn't mind seeing it on her. "He wouldn't let me go clubbing either." She reasons. "But we were never planning on doing that." I mock in a high pitched voice.

"Whatever. I'm trying it on." She takes the dress off the rack and walks over to the nearest dressing room.

"Look at this." She gasps, walking out of the dressing area and showing me the dress. "Wow..." I stare at her, with my mouth hanging open. "Close your mouth." Ellie giggles. "You'll catch flies."

"No way." I shake my finger and direct her towards the dressing room again. "No way what?" Ellie asks, stopping in her tracks and turning around. "That dress is way too showy." I try and push her into the room again. "No way. And besides, what's the worst thing that would happen if I wear this?" Ellie reasons. "Well... What if we went out and you didn't come back with us?" I try and prove my point. "Niall... I'm a virgin. I wouldn't do that." She flatly says. "Wait. Seriously?" I ask. "Yeah." She shrugs it off, like its no big deal. But being a virgin is almost like being a unicorn.

"I'm buying this dress." Ellie says, walking to the checkout area. "Fine." I shrug, secretly pulling out my wallet.

The man standing behind the counter keeps peeking over at Ellie and I'm actually jealous. I'm honestly jealous of some stranger looking at her. Wow, Niall. Nice.

I suddenly snatch Ellie's wallet out of her hands and hold it above my head. "No fair. Give it back." Ellie pouts. "Never." I smirk.

She immediately takes her credit card out of her purse and smirks back at me. "I know how you boys think, I live with you." She says, laughing.

Ellie pays for the dress without another word, from me or her, and takes it off the counter and walks towards the door.

Harry's P.O.V

I hear the front door creak open as Ellie's sing-song voice says, "I'm back." I quickly rush to the door and hug her.

Why? I don't really know...
