"When will you tell anyone Doqir? People need to know what happened in that battle!" Lin protested, "they know what happened in that battle, the KnightWolves got suffocated by the ConstrictingTails" Ponte glared at him. "Apparently not if you're alive and have the scar to prove you're from that battle" Doqir rolled his eyes, "what do you want to know?" Lin and Ponte looked at each other and must have thought the same thing.
"Are there more survivors other than you?" Doqir sighed, "yes but they refused to let me tell anyone where they were for fear of being punished by the old king, the father of Emlin, that's what happened to those who lost" Lin and Ponte looked concerned and sad, "but he's no longer king, his daughter is" Doqir nodded.
"I've tried to go to where their hide out is and tell them that it's safe but I've been given no chance to go out alone thanks to some people catching me in the act of sneaking over and telling Emlin and then almost getting me killed" he growled, "but now since you know I can sneak over, you're more than welcome to come join me" they looked worried and unsure but they knew they had to tell the hiding survivors something.
"Fine, we'll go, for the survivors sake" Doqir nodded and looked over at Lin, "you don't have to come with us if you don't want to" Lin shook her head, "no it's alright, I'll go" he nodded and lead them toward the border.

"Alright, we're close, it's just up here" Ponte was getting a weird feeling about what they were doing, he knew the KnightWolves would be on the look out for them and they would sniff out that they went across the border but he wasn't sure if they would believe their explanation.
Doqir walked warily through the snow of Wintile, he moved on from where they were hiding because he was the one picked to be the look out for when the king was out of power and someone better came in. He understood their reason for hiding and he knew it's been a while since he's seen them.
"Shh" Lin said suddenly, "you hear that?" they all stopped and listened intently and noticed they were hearing voices.

"What do you mean?"
"I mean you're next"
"But what about them! He's already got a bite taken out of him!"
"Yeah, from you!"
"So why don't we finish him off?!"
Doqir walked around the bushes that separated them from the survivors, as soon as he walked around everyone looked over at him. "Because you're a stupid little-" she took a double take as she noticed Doqir standing there with two others.
"Doqir?" she looked at him and narrowed her eyes at the other two he'd brought with him, "who are they?" she asked sternly and pointed to them with the blood stained blade she held in her hand, the other was in it's holster.
"This is Lin and Ponte, they know" she growled at him, "I see this, so this means that tyrant is out of office" Doqir nodded and looked around where they were living and noticed blood seemed to be everywhere, not one spot wasn't completely covered in blood, he became nervous.
"What's with all the bl-"
"The blood? You like it? It's from our fellow comrades" Doqir's eyes widened and looked at her more closely. He noticed that some of her veins were black, they were more visible in her neck and they lead up to her right eye, which was covered by her black hair.
"You, ate them?" Doqir said in disbelief, "don't be too shocked Doqir, we've only been here for years!" she snapped, "I tried to come sooner but the patrols were on the look out for me after the first time I crossed over into Wintile" she growled at him.
"Excuses, excuses, excuses! You could've told them about us! You could've saved lives Doqir!" he looked and noticed she was right but he knew the queen wouldn't believe him unless he showed her, which wouldn't happen.
"I'm sorry Ra-"
"Sorry? You think you can just come get us years later and apologize and everything's just alright!?"
"I tri-"
"You may have tried but you didn't succeed! You're useless! I knew I should've gone instead of you but no, everyone wanted you to go, and you failed us!" Doqir's heart ached, he knew she was angry but he was wondering why no one else was saying anything, he looked over at where everyone else sat and they all shook their heads and refused to defend him.
"No one's going to help defend you Doqir, now take us back to Wintile" everyone got up and she walked passed Doqir mumbling, "if you can even do that right" Doqir flattened his ears against his head as everyone passed by him with a growl or hurtful words.
"Let's go" Lin and Ponte looked at each other then back to Doqir as he began walking behind everyone else. Lin looked over at Ponte and noticed he was a little teary eyed and Lin couldn't blame him. They were there for so long that they were forced to go into cannibalism, Lin probably would've done the same thing if she were that desperate.
"Hey Lin?"
"Yes Doqir?"
"Do you think what she said was true?"
"Of course not Doqir, they're just a little mad cause they've been stuck there a while without proper shelter, or anything for that matter, and besides, we know it was hard for you to sneak over the border to get them" she gave him a reassuring smile and he gave one back, "thanks Lin" she gave him a small nod before continuing to walk next to Doqir. Before she knew it Doqir was holding her hand, she was going to pull away but figured it was best if she didn't, after all she liked Doqir, a lot.

"Let me go in first before you come in behind me" they all nodded and Doqir walked in with Lin and Ponte following behind. Emlin sat in her throne watching as they entered.
"I've been waiting for you three to come here all afternoon only to find out all three had snuck away across the border, now as I recall Doqir, you were not allowed to sneak away across the border so...start explaining!" she slammed a fist on one of the arm rests.
"Queen, Emlin, we snuck across the border because not every KnightWolf was killed in that battle with the ConstrictingTails" Emlin rose an eyebrow and Doqir continued. He lifted up the shirt he was wearing and revealed the scaly scar imprint and Emlin's eyes went wide.
"How is this possible?" Doqir put his shirt back down, "we retreated once we knew we were out numbered but our commander wouldn't let us, so we pretended to die sooner than we normally would've and the ScaleWarriors retreated as well as that commander, we were afraid of coming back here right away because your father would've had us killed or punished for losing so we had to go into hiding"
"That makes sense, so where is everyone else?" as soon as those words were spoken the she-wolf that was talking earlier walked in with the rest of them following behind. "Right here your majesty" Emlin noticed the strange black veins as the she-wolf walked closer to her, she began to get curious.
"What's with the black veins? You aren't infected are you?" the she-wolf shook her head, "diseased? Ill? Dying?" she shook her head to all of those and Emlin eased. "If you say so, well I must say welcome back to Wintile, you are free to go back to your original homes and reunite with your families once again" everyone seemed excited about that and immediately ran back outside and toward people they haven't seen in years, all except the one she-wolf.
She turned slowly and instead of her tail wagging in was being dragged, instead of perked up ears they were flat against her head. Doqir didn't understand why she was so sad looking but like a flip of a light switch she perked right up and ran out the door, "Doqir? A word please" and he turned back to the queen.
"Who was that?" he walked closer to Emlin, "oh that? The white and black spotted she-wolf?" she nodded, "oh that's Rayvin" Emlin slowly nodded. "I'll have to keep an eye on that one..." she trailed off and her DogGuards immediately took notice of her hint and some walked out of the door.

There was a sudden knock at the door that made everyone jump, it was quiet and slow but it was definitely someone at the door. He got up from where he sat with his son and mate and went to go see who it was. When he opened the door and looked at who was standing there he thought he was dreaming, he almost fell over at the sight of her.
"Hey dad" she said as he stood there getting teary eyed, he quickly grabbed her and hugged her tightly. "Who is it dear?" she walked toward the door and noticed who he was hugging and he turned around and showed her their baby girl wrapped in his arms. She ran up to her as well and hugged her with him, they were all smiling and crying at the same time.
"We thought you were dead!" she exclaimed, "I know you did, I know" she said through her tears. "Where's Mayem?" he must've heard his name because he walked toward them and was confused as to what was going on.
They let go of her and he looked up at the strange she-wolf that stood in the doorway. "Mayem this is your older sister, Rayvin" he looked even more confused, "you were too young to remember me Mayem I'm not surprised you don't know me" he shrugged and walked over to her and she picked him up and hugged him.
"Rayvin you must tell us everything, please come inside" Henfir closed the door behind her and she told them all about how she had lived and how Doqir stupidly didn't come get them until years after, she was happy, and so were they.
