"Calum, I think you should just come clean with us." Ashton piped up as the boys chilled across the sofa, MTV on the television screen. "On what?" Calum asked, eyebrows furrowed. Michael and Luke sat up straighter as they knew exactly what is going to go down. "You know what I mean." Ashton answered defiantly, his eyes narrowed. "No, Ash. I do not know what you mean." Calum huffed as he crossed his arms. "Y/N." Ashton hissed out as Calum's expression fell. Calum does not have the best reputation with ladies, stringing them along until their hearts get broken. Until he met her, the one person who did not swoon for his charismatic lines, the one who made Calum turned his player-ish ways a complete one eighty. The one he let her walking home by herself. "Let me tell you something." Ashton mumbled as he stood up and stared at his friend dead in the eye.
"Y/N is that one person who everyone wants. She has the sweetest and purest soul and you, Calum Hood, got the honour of being with her. You are the lucky basturd who gets to hold her hand, stroke her hair but the best of all, you got to be loved by her. If this relationship doesn't mean anything to you, imagine this.
She's newly single, at a party, dancing with some guy but you can't go and be a hero and say 'she's mine' because she was never yours to begin with. Can you scroll through your phone and not resist clicking her contact? Can you stand seeing her with another man? Hugging? Kissing? Can you simply watch as she falls in love with someone who is not you?" Ashton continued, smugly smirking as Calum held his clenched fists by his sides as he tried to resist punching his friend in the face. "Can you Calum? I bet ya can't." Ashton taunted as he steadided himself for the punch. "ENOUGH! GOD-FUCKING DAMMIT ENOUGH!" Calum yelled as he took deep breaths and calmed down. Ashton smiled and clapped his shoulder. "Go after her, don't ever leave her.. If you can't let her go, stay for her." with that, Ashton walked upstairs. Leaving Calum and his two other friends in silence.
