{Plan Backfired} A Ryan Fletcher Imagine
"Ryan doesn't deserve you."
"He's gonna fuck up, I'm sure of it."
"You're too good for Fletcher."They call me a fool. A young, naive fool to fall for him. But he looks like an angel from Heaven, how can he be the Devil in disguise? How can the Devil look so angelic? How can he hurt me?
As our eyes made contact, my heart skipped a beat, my breathing hitched and a satisfying chill ran down my spine. His olive green eyes seem to stare into my very soul, his expession was one of interest, the kind where it shouts "YOU ARE MY NEXT MEAL" and it scared me to pieces. My heartbeat jackhammered as he stalked over to my counter, a devilish grin plastered on his face, toned arms inked with intricate artworks. I gazed at his inked skin, the black ink contrasted against his pale skin with delicate strokes and designs, perhaps I was staring too long as he cleared his throat. My gaze immediately hilt to his eyes and I can almost see determination swirling within them. "I've been told you are smart but they never mentioned how beautiful you are." He flirted, making me break the eye contact, looking at our shoes and how close they look. "Well, that's very kind of you," I shyly replied, giving him a tiny smile for his compliment. "I'm Ryan." He introduced, handing out his hand to shake, "Y/N." I acknowledged, giving his hand a shy shake. He unexpectedly tugged my outstreched hand to him and whispered hotly in my ear, "I better not see you in another's arms Y/N." With that, he gently pushed me away with a wink. I was left, aflustered and confused.
"What exactly does he mean 'I better not see you in another's arms'?" I grilled Andy, my six foot best friend or bodyguard if you piss him off. As I retold my little encounter with Ryan, Andy's expression grew darker, as if he is planning Ryan's ultimate death. "It means he wants you, Y/N. But he has to get through me if he ever wants to be within a ten mile radius as you." He gritted his teeth and clenched his fists. "Me? Why would he want silly old me?" I retorted, going over what is it about me that Ryan would want to whisper such a threatening message to me? I mean, it's not like any guy would waltz in and sweep me off my feet. Andy's expression lightened up after hearing my silly question, "True, why would he want you? When he sees this physique, that lad might have a heart attack!" Andy joked, puffing out his chest in a buff manner, making me giggle and push him away playfully. "Ew, go away Brown." I teased as he started making his infamous grinch grin, cause me to howl in laughter. Apparantly someone did not appreciate Andy's jokes as the six foot was suddenly knocked over and on the floor in seconds. That someone is Ryan.
"Mate, stay the fuck away from Y/N. We all know who would win in this battle." Ryan warned, his fist in the air, ready to strike. Andy laughed mockingly, brown eyes staring straight into olive green as tension intensified. I ran to Ryan, not intending any harm to my best friend but halted as I heard Andy laugh. "You think she'll want you? A ruthless man with nothing for her? She deserves the world and more and I know for a fact you cannot give it to her." Andy intimidated, the hallway went silent as they watch on, phones at the ready. I gently tapped Ryan's shoulder, willing him to face me and when he did, his fierce expression morphed into one of mystery, I could not read what he was feeling. "Ryan, c'mon I'll lead you somewhere." I whispered, tugging on his arm and giving Andy a stern look for him to head to the nurse. Ryan was silent throughout our little walk until we reached the back building of the school, though it was out of bounds for students, I still trek over for some peace and quiet. "This is my calming space, I never really brought anyone here with me, not even Andy. So I bestow that honour to you." I chirped, relishing in the soft London breeze as it caressed my face. Ryan nodded but remained stoic, glancing around and settling down on the soft grass. "Sorry 'bout that." He mumbled, confusing me for a moment until my mind clicked back to what happened mere moments ago. "It's okay I guess. I know how Andy can be when he's protective." I shrugged my shoulders and focused my sight towards the swaying of the tree. "Is he your boyfriend or somethin'?" He asked, I chuckled at the question, that happens when you get asked that almost every time I'm seen with him. "No, Andy and I go way back." I answered honestly. Ryan seemed relived by my answer from his shoulder finally sagged. Nothing was said between us, a comfortable silence envoloped us as we watch nature take its course.
Days after that seem to be a blur for me, with my classes piling up for the upcoming exams and hanging out with Andy and Ryan separately, I am very much overwhelemed. "Why do you like Fletcher so much anyway? Last I recalled, he nearly pummeled my face just a month ago!" Andy complained after I suggested that we invite Ryan to lunch at The Spinning Cuppa, our usual hangout spot. "And last I recalled, you were the one who egged him on. C'mon Andy, he's not that bad once you got to know him." I pleaded, eagerly trying to get these two knuckleheads to get along. "Oh no.. Not that look." Andy groaned, throwing his arms up. I grinned smugly at his defeated form, I turned it up a notch and added my known pout. "Please?" I pleaded, playfully batting my eyelashes. "Fine! Fine!" He surrendered. Letting out a small yay, I waved for Ryan over to our table and I pretend not to notice the death glares shared between the two males.
"Y/N, you can't possibly be hanging out with that.. that.. Thug!" Tiffany squeaked, cyan blue eyes wide with fear. Fear of what I have no idea, my eyes rolled to the heavens as I huffed, "We're just friends, Tiff. Nothing more, besides, it's not like I'm going to fall for him or anything. Have a little more faith in me, will ya?" I waved a hand at her as I continued munching on my less than satisfying lunch. "Hey there sweets." Ryan grinned as he slid to a spot beside me, ignoring my frozen friend. "Where's your bodyguard?" He looked around for my six foot friend. "He's sick." Tiffany grumbled, disgruntled that Ryan is here. But Ryan gave a nod in understanding and simply stared at me. I could not help but feel a flutter in my stomache, my mind in serenity as I gazed into his olive green eyes.
Looks like my plan has backfired.
