The rain slowly patted down the double glazed window. Rain droplets raced each other down to the very end. Dark clouds swam across the sky, hiding the bright smiling sun. You could hear the soft footsteps echoing through the building. Her feet came closer and closer to her destination. Quietly, her body entered the white silent room. The blue leathered seat sent a shiver down her spine. Her warm soft hand touched her brother’s cold ones. She stared down at his pale face. She remembered all the good times they used to have,  so full of joy-but that was when he had so much more energy, when he actually had colour on his face. She looked back at her tearful mother.

“I’ll do it.”

“You don't have to do this honey. I will find another way, its fine. I'll make other arrangements, I'll take a loan, and I’ll get a job or something.”

“Mum honestly, I don't want you to take a loan. The faster we get the money the better." Taking her brother's hand in hers, Juliet  leaned over the bed and gave him a kiss on the forehead. “You'll get better. I promise.” she  whispered. His eyes fluttered open, revealing his grey eyes that he inherited from their father.

“You don't have to do this. Just leave it.”

“No, I'm doing this for you, for mum and for dad. No one is going to stop me.”

“You’ve been through so much already. You can’t-“

“Look, I’m going to do this. Henry you’re only eighteen. You’ve still got life to live. Your life so far has been in and out of hospital. I’m twenty-one, I’m not dying, and I’m only marrying this guy to get the money for your treatment. Henry, we may have lost dad to cancer but I’m not going to lose you.”

-----A couple of hours ago-----

Juliet was walking down the plain white corridor, holding a cold water bottle in her hand as she was thinking about the times her and her dad used to have. She  remembered when she turned around twelve and his hair started to fall out, she always thought it was because he was old but then she used to find handful of hair on his pillow. Juliet asked her mum several times what was going on but nothing. Then her dad was out more, sometimes he never used to come home for days and when he did he was always sleeping.

She remembered she had a nanny, but because she was upset and angry she always stayed in her room, so she didn’t see her much. Then when Juliet was thirteen she walked into her parents’ room and found her dad coughing up blood. She was confused, and scared; she didn’t know what to do. That’s when Juliet's mum sat her down and told her that her dad was suffering from cancer. Being shocked, she didn’t say much. Juliet asked her if he is going to be alright. She just looked at the ground. She knew the answer to her question.

“Juliet, we need to talk” Juliet came out of my day dreaming and realised she had several tears rolling down her face. She quickly wiped her tears before anyone could see. A cold hand touched her hand causing a shiver to run down her spine. Juliet turned to face her mother’s concerned face.
